Other Than Pinball Collections

Just sitting around relaxing and thinking about the various things myself and people in general collect. Many consider "dust collectors" others consider them treasures.
On top of pinball machines and other related arcade items, I am guessing many people in this community also collect or have collected in the past, many interesting things. I have always had a fascination with military history and history in general and thus collected various items I have found along the way, but I am sure some on this forum also collect or study various different interests.

Pinball is definitely the biggest ticket thing I collect, but then again, they're less of a "collectible" and more of a "thing I own so I can play them when I want". Besides that though, I've got a comics habit going back close to 30 years now, and I'm up around 11 or 12 thousand books, which are a pain to store and catalog. I've also got a pretty decent video game collection, but most of that is just hoarding and not getting rid of my own stuff. There's almost nothing in there that I didn't buy with the intent of wanting to play it (vs buying for value).

I also have a pretty sizeable Lego collection, which really started back in 2001 or so with the first of the UCS (Ultimate Collector Series) Star Wars sets. These were large scale models (1000-1500 pieces), and looked extremely neat. I bought the first two of those, which led to buying the next in the series when they came out, and so on and so forth... I was basically only buying Star Wars for a long time, but my wife and I branched out into the modular buildings a few years back, and manged to get all but the first two of those (since they were out of print and expensive). After being in that for a while, I found out that some of those early sets I owned were going for crazy money on the aftermarket. In my office, I have the UCS Star Destroyer, Death Star, and Millennium Falcon right next to each other, and since all three are out of print, they're all pretty rare, and even used demanding 2x list.

I'm a bit of a hoarder and I admit I kept every video game system I ever owned starting with Sears Pong back in the 70's. I was interested in The Walking Dead so I collected the very detailed McFarlane lego styled sets and recently ordered the Lego Simpsons House set for my son. I am sure my time capsule attic has a bunch of the original Star Wars toys just waiting for re-discovery. Comics was also a big thing for me when I was younger, I recently pulled a large box of sealed comics from storage to check their condition, so I may have some questions regarding these and a potential to sell them if you might be interested. I still buy the odd comic book but I have to resort to reading glasses now. It is a sure sign of age when your arms are not long enough to read small print anymore.

Besides pinball and antique furniture (I restore as a hobby) I've collected these since I bought my first one in 1990. Nothing more fun as a summer car!! Although I really have to learn to collect smaller things than pinball..... Not bigger lol

In addition to a few pinball machines, I love collecting and fixing old top-of-the-line 1935-1939
Canadian tube radios, along with late 1950s-early 1960s top of the line German tube radios.
And a few old jukes. Just as pinball machines, all that stuff needs careful and proper repairs now...

I try not to get obsessive about more than one hobby at a time...

However, I did recently buy a minibike for my son and I to restore together. It's a 1977 Honda Z50; total project.

I also figured that dad would need something to ride the trails with alongside the little guy, so I'm grabbing a slightly larger Honda CT70.

These little bikes are really cool.

Transformers. I only buy the large 12"-14" models. I probably started 10 or 15 years ago. I'll wait till their on clearance at Walmart or or winners for $50-$75. All of them are still in box and a couple have doubled or tripled in price. I think my highest one on eBay is Shadow Command Megatron, it's selling for $250-300.

My music and video collection is pretty large too a couple hundred records, probably close to a thousand cd's and several hundred DVD and bluray's

All of these are taking up space in the game room and might need to find a new home at sometime.

Ive been doing different collections my whole life, but as I move on I eventually sell them. Just sold my huge video game collection last year, now i have to get around to selling my large record collection someday.

That is the hard part. I find it hard to part with various things I have collected. Money comes and goes but old and rare items don't come by often and are hard to find in many cases.

Puppet Master replicas...woooo I checked them out and they are creepy. I can see them getting you in your sleep. LOL

It is great to see kids getting into motor bikes again. I drove a 1980 Z50 for a lot of years when I wasn't running my YZ 125 or CR80.
I used to use a WW2 German helmet and call myself the Hell's Shriner's, in reference to the Shriner's club that always drove these little Honda 50's in the parades in Nova Scotia.

Serious? I was just given an old Spartan 5141 and was going to dedicate some time to restoring it. Good to know someone on the forum might have parts and knowledge. It doesn't look nearly as good as the one in the picture I'm attaching. Hopefully I'll get it to this point sometime.
