How well does the panel rest into the backbox, as in do you need spacers, etc? And with Met, there are 2 styles of backbox, wood and metal (I have metal), any differences in installation?

Roar is correct, we have tried it in a MET with a metal back box. When you install one in these new Sterns, the display sticks out the front of the panel by a half inch or so. I've tested with these standoffs which sets it back enough to put a piece of plexi in front of it:

You can also find them on Amazon...

If you could come up with something, I'm sure people would appreciate it. :D

Hope your displays are working for you. Would love to see some pictures and stuff!

I was thinking more for jedi42 who's local. I'm not sure it would be cost effective to print and ship. Black rubber tube for posts might be the easiest solution.

So far so good in Addams. It's a little glitchy when transitioning, but pretty good overall. I've had no luck yet finding colorization for Dredd, Doctor Who or Star trek pro.

I may have files for Star Trek. It may need to done the same way as Metallica with a modified bin file for the game, palette files for the display and an extra cable. I have access to a couple of Star Trek pins and I will test it out. I may also have files for AC/DC. If you buy a Pinball Browser license, there are some files in the built in macro repository. If I can sort it out, I will let you know.

Popped them into Dredd and Doctor Who tonight. Even the default color palette is pretty good. There's no weird color in transitions for default palette, so what I've experienced in taf is probably just a flaw in the custom mappings I got.

Huge shout out to Dino for putting these together, they're amazing, and with the wiring harness, which is nicely labeled, it's all plug and play.

How complete is the Dr Who conversion? I have an Colordmd LCD in my Dr Who right now. If it is at 100%, then may be worth swapping it out. Thanks.

Dino hooked me up with a board and harness, it was plug and play. Took me about two hours to get it all up and running.

Here’s a little video of Pin2dmd running on my lethal weapon 3.

Make that 2 for Stern Star Trek, as I am more likely to put one in ST than Met, as I doubt my family would ever let me sell ST.

Looks good Matt! I gotta get better instructions up on my site for the install for all the different manufacturers and loading the files. It's a work in progress. Another thing on the list!

Thanks again!

Hi Dino

Great looking upgrade to standard DMD. Will your DMD work in a T2 or a TZ and do you get instructions for installation for dummies. My pinball tech skills are poor at best so the DMD’s look great but the installation looks like I might struggle a bit.

Thanks Perry

This is tempting. The bottom row on my Dr Who is out.

Put one in a Dr. Who on Saturday with the built-in 4 colour palette. Looked really good for just red-blue-white-black. Seemed to match the theme fairly well. We also played around with a couple of other games where we were able to load different 4 colour palettes onto the SD card so it matched the colour in the game better. Very simple to do.

I have a folder with around 130 different palette combinations that I can share...

These will go in both T2 and TZ. It's not a very complicated process. I installed one in a T2 on Saturday. It took me about 10 minutes and that was because we were yapping while working. There are colour files for T2 that you need to copy onto a micro SD card and install in the holder on the back of the display. A quick reboot of the board or power cycle of the game and it comes up in full colour. I don't believe there are colour files for TZ yet but you will still get a basic 4 colour palette.

I could walk you through the process if necessary plus there is additional info on https://sites.google.com/view/pin2dmd/

I will continue expanding the site with more information when I can.

Picked up a few of these off a Dino on the weekend...smooth transaction. Dino is a great guy that gives you all the info you need to get these installed easily into your pin.

Took me 15 minutes to install into my FT and It looks fantastic. For 250 bux it’s a no brainer.

uploaded a short vid if anyone wants to take a look.

Thanks again Dino!
