I got my board from Dino yesterday. Super quick shipping, friendly guy, and price is right. It really was plug n' play. Took 10 minutes to install and voila, POTC has a colour DMD! Looks great.........looks so good that my wife and I were losing balls because we were too busy looking at the DMD!! Thanks again Dino........highly recommended.

Ha, thanks Dino! More of an error on my part for not reading your instructions online. It clearly states that the micro-SD must be installed in the display at all times. For some reason I thought it was like a GPU board and could retain the memory!! All is good, enjoying the DMD even more now but not watching it as much since this really affects and good scores! (who would have thought......??)

I too also just installed in a Stern POTC. Easy install and looks fabulous. Crazy quick shipping as well. Very happy with it. Now, if someone would just finish the files for LOTR my wallet would get thinner again.

There are two guys working on LOTR files now. I'm hoping one of them gets them done because guys keep asking me about them!

@Dino Z. slippy just posted updated code for Creech! The screen captures look great!

slippy states "Please ensure you are using the latest stable V4+ PIN2DMD firmware with 64 colour support."

Do you have a link handy that can point me to how to do this? Thanks!

Check my website at https://www.cdnpin2dmd.ca and look for the firmware update section. A link to the file you need is there along with instructions. The process is pretty simple and takes not time at all. Give it a shot. Let me know if you have any problems!

Installed the pin2dmd display in our lotr yesterday, it is amazing. The colorization by RedRum is great. I have a colorDMD LED display in my black spiderman and without a doubt the pin2dmd is superior in appearance and quality.

Thanks, Dino for your support, quick shipping and the excellent LED display. Hopefully, the colorization of TZ will be completed in the near future.

Currently $280 but I may have to bump it a bit because of increased costs. I won't know until the end of the month when all the parts finally arrive. I'd like to hold it there but it might be closer to $300. The CPU on the displays went from $7 USD to $28 and on the last order it went up to $46. Everything has gotten more expensive...

Was thinking of picking up another pin2dmd for my recently purchased ST Pro, but it looks like there isn't a colorization file for it. Am I just an idiot or is it hiding somewhere on the VPU website that I can't see? The only one I can find states it is NOT for a real pin.

There is an issue with getting the colour running for ST Pro. Someone has done the work but because of a lack of memory in the physical chips in the real game, all the scenes don't end up coloured. Without getting too technical, there are a couple of ways to apply colour using the PIN2DMD displays. The method used for ST and MET was to colourize the factory binary file from Stern and then upload it to the game. Apparently the chips that they use on the music pins have more space than non-music pins from around the same time because of the music that needs to be stored. When the colour is applied, it uses up free space on these chips. MET has enough, ST does not so the colour is incomplete.

There are a few of us that are encouraging some of the colour authors to redo ST and get all the colour information onto the memory card that goes in the PIN2DMD display rather then trying to patch the Stern game code. This is what is being done for all the other games. Hopefully someone will take on the project soon as we get lots of requests for ST.

Hope that helps!

If I ever get two seconds to myself maybe I'll give it another go. I didn't have much luck the first time getting answers to really basic questions though. That didn't discourage me enough from trying again though.
