Playfield Screw Source?

Hey Folks,
Any suggestions on where to find the #6 (I think) hex-head sheet metal screws (1/4" head) that seem to hold everything to the playfield on my Diner and CFTBL? Thanks.

There are two main screws for the playfield.
- #6-1/2" for all the thick brackets (coil, microswitch, etc.)
- #6-3/8" yellow/chromate colour for thin brackets (lamps)

The chromate colour of the smaller screws is so you don't %*&$$# up and put a screw through the playfield.

The original #6-1/2" screws are thread cutting screws type T-17. But if you are replacing a screw you don't need to cut threads; it may even make the hole worse.

Easiest is to get them from Pinball Life along with something else to make the shipping less painful. Or get Mike at pinballmedics.ca to order some, he orders from there weekly.

You're not going to find the chromate ones anywhere else but a pinball place I think. You can probably find the sheet metal screws at a hardware store but they may be slotted as well.

It was $17 US but then shipping was $33 so I bought a whole bunch of extra stuff, tools, etc. I will keep Pinball Medics in mind, I would much rather spend my money in Canada!

Another option to consider is shipping to Niagara Falls, NY depot with Shippsy. It cost $7 CDN to have the item shipped from NY to their depot in Markham or Mississauga. They also offer to mail your item within Canada once it arrives at their depot on this side of the border. If you want to try it out, if you use this link, you will save $10 on your first shipment. You will have to pay HST on the order and if you keep the order under $150CDN, there won't be any duty at the border. I have used it about 10 times so far and works great.

Marco has free shipping within the US right now (if you spend $99US) so basically you can get an order from Marco to Markham or Mississauga for $7CDN, which is a pretty good deal. I also find buying stuff on Amazon is sometimes cheaper with free US shipping. Especially when the item is out of stock in Canada.

Problem with these direct shipments from the US suppliers to Canada is the duty. No way to control what you get charged until you go pick it up at the post office and get screwed. Have not had this issue or any duty with Shippsy.

Small parts (screws, washers, etc.), rubbers, glass, brackets/legs, Comet bulbs and more, all at Pinball Medics conveniently located in Ottawa.

I'm about to place an order, but I'll ask how much it would have cost shipped. I'm all for buying from here when I can!
