Shooter Rods

Anyone know how a shooter rod knob is attached? I'm thinking about trying to 3d print one and not sure how they attach and if you can take an old one off? Glue, screwed on?

I think they're glued. I know Brock used to get blank rods from Pinball Life back when he made custom ones. One possibility might be to make something in two halves that goes over the existing knob.

I usually take the time to cut threads on both pieces and screw the knob on, but epoxy should work just as well.
