Was expecting an upgraded green goblin toy like Steve Ritchie originally intended, disappointing that it's not included. For this price, that definitely should've been done.

Some of the artwork on that is great. Marc Bagley is one of the definitive Spider-Man artists at this point, so no surprises there. I'm a little surprised that they went with the Ultimate look for everything, especially since they've just ended that whole universe in the comics, but Marvel must have signed off on it. Seeing the video was a little surprising though-I thought they would have kept the original JK Simmons callouts, especially since he's also the voice of JJJ in the animated series. All the voice samples in that clip sounded pretty terrible actually-again, the actors from the Ultimate Spider-Man series are really good, so there might be a way to pinball browser in some samples there.

But $7500 for a game that retailed for $5000 new as late as 2011? Inflation takes it to maybe $5500, so the rest is just what the market will bear?

I really don't get how anyone can be upset by this release. I think it looks great! The movie version is starting to look dated thanks to pics of the actors' faces. This comic-book feel is what EVERYONE wanted with the original release, and now that they have it -- they don't want it?? I just don't get pinball anymore.

Anyway, according to Jared there will be new code for this game with extra modes (there's already 17 modes in the original code). Also take the voice acting in that clip for what it is -- a work in progress. I wouldn't count out JK Simmons just yet. Maybe what's in there now is just filler until his schedule is free? He's a voice actor after all, so it's what he does.

The only hardware change on the PF is they removed the Green Goblin shaker coil -- which no one ever noticed anyway. Ritchie wanted Green Goblin on a swinger arm moving back and forth, but with the Ultimate GG it doesn't make sense since he's not on a goblin flyer. Everything else has been beefed up, including protectors and hardware mounts -- weak spots from the original design.

Also not mentioned in the release (but included in the game) is the metal apron and slide rails included in this run.

I think this game looks GREAT!! And I prefer it over the original (especially with the new dots). My only complaint is the translite -- Spiderman should be the focal point, not Doc Ock.

I wonder if they fixed the "You ooze, you loose" mistake? :D

I agree this iteration of the game looks WAY better than the origianl as well, Stern did a great job. My only beef is the price point, as it strays from all the previous VE release pricing (not to mention the insanely horrible exchange right now)... but that's probably just me driving the bitter bus because I'll likely never get to own one of these.

Looks great, new art is awesome on the cab! Playfield, just ok, no better than the origional. I was hoping they would change the music personally :) And the only missed opportunity I think is that the armor should have been some sweet colours.

Priced along the lines of premiums/LE's and you can see they did custom art, side rails it has metal ramps etc. Id Imagine since they probably will only make about 250 of these like the IMVE runs each, it will probably sell, not much up here after exchange but probably will.

I think the "changed code" is just accounting for new mode names, dots, and callouts, and maybe some new LED effects. I can't see them changing the rules-it's one of the things people like about the game anyway. For the new modes, I'll bet the goals are the same.

Wonder how long it'll take for someone to get this running on a regular Spider-Man?

I really like original hand drawn art over real faces unless the real people are hot chicks like in Tron;). I really got to play the crap out of Spiderman over the years so the nothing new factor is quite high and therefore cannot justify the MSRP on this pin. I agree with Hitler in that the price accounting for inflation, should be no more than $5500. I'll wait for Ghostbusters, at least that is a completely new game at about the same price point.
