Hehe, Wong is so fast.

Here is his email address:

hpugto@gmail.com

He also has these parts in stock, already plated, so, it might be cheaper for him to send up the new stuff to you.

I was about to go to Hamilton for my plating. Thanks for letting me know there is someone local.

Where were you heading in Hamilton to do the plating? I couldn't find anybody this way, so I was actually doing the opposite, heading to Toronto to do the chroming....

I'm certain there is someone local that can do both regular plating and stainless.
The only reason I found SUN plating was simply becasue they were near me and easy to find and bring my stuff to.

If I spent more than 30 minutes researching it, I'm positive a local plater exisits that can do it all.
However, with travel to the US over the last couple of years and the dollar at near par, it was just as easy to give all my work to Mike Chestnut and pickup at Expo.

I did speak to some guys up at The Polishing Depot a while back but havent had the need to use them yet. Now that I think of it, I think they said they could probably do stainless steel too.
If anyone wants to do a test run, I can donate a couple of parts to make up a minumum order.

I dropped off some parts off on March 16 at Sun for The Shadow (x2), Creech and MM.

I received an email from Diane last Friday morning that my stuff should be ready for pick up in the afternoon

Everything turns out great just like the last time and here are some pics of the wire forms reinstalled in my MM.

For the convenience of being able to drop off/pick up locally in GTA, price and turn around time Sun Plating can't be beat. The wire forms on my Shadow, Congo, TOM and TOTAN still look as shiny even after almost a year of having them re-plated by Sun last May.

Finally had a chance to drop off some wireforms at Sun Plating, and they did not disappoint! It took them about a week to have my parts ready.

Here's a sample of the fine work they do:

It's too bad this local place doesn't plate stainless steel such as lockdown bars or side rails. They told me they could brass plate legs, wireforms and other metal parts.

I dropped a friend's Shadow gun for chrome plating and it didn't turn out too good. It probably had more to do with prep and Sun not having the proper small precise to do it. I could tell they tried to clean up the area by the trigger hole but they didn't wanna go too close to the thin areas. The lady told me they don't have small precise tools to his these areas and don't wanna risk damaging it with their existing ones.

The wireforms I brass plated over 2 years ago are holding up great and still very shiney.
