image.jpeg So my newly acquired RFM came home with a super dirty playfield. I know that a thorough cleaning with Novus 2 followed by a good coat of wax would be the normal course of action, but I am afraid that in its present condition, Novus 2 is not be the best option for an initial cleaning. Any suggestions? Thanks much.

Novus2 would actually be a very good choice for cleaning that PF! You will likely need more than one application, but it would still be my cleaner of choice. I have cleaned much worse condition PF's with it successfully.

Thanks. Doug. At your suggestion, I'll do it. :)

I've always had a good experience cleaning the black grime with CP-100 (naphtha). Completely non-abrasive, and non-water based.

There may be some pitting that you have to use the Novus 2 on, but using the non-abrasive first and getting rid of most the filth, and using the abrasive Novus 2 as little as possible makes sense to me.
