I agree. It's a kick-ass mod... only bettered by the fiber optic ramps!
Tron owners are a lucky bunch.

The coolest part is that the guy responsible for both mods doesn't even own the game!

And, to get back on topic, I sanded some butterflies last night :)
My Farfalla playfield is getting prepped for first stage of clearcoat and then some minor touch-ups.

I got my Tron Pro playfield FINALLY after almost 4 months of waiting from Stern/Starburst, sadly the recognizer was smashed, and some brackets from shipping, but we were able to take them off the old playfield. I tell you, the new playfield looks 100% better, my last playfield looked like it was at the end of a dye lot, pixelated and ugly.

So props to Starburst for supporting what they sell, and sending two techs out to my house to install it.

What did I do today? Got a huge shipment from Pinball Resources and Cliffy both today! Only took a week each! I guess I know what I am doing this weekend!

Stern is great!
I had a minor but troublesome issue with my large TRON insert by the left standup targets appearing to be slightly raised and the edge almosts tarting to chip. This insert shouldn't even be visible as it's blended into the art/clearcoat.

They had to wait for the 2nd run of games to get me a replacement, but they did.. and the quality was far superior to the original. Even the clearcoat has held up better. I'm guessign they went to a different supplier, or made changes to the production.

The only PIA was having to swap all my mods from the old one to the new.
SB was also very flexible and accomodating.

Oh yeah,
I just got my BH controlled lamps to come back on after scratching my head for about a day.
Seems I need glasses because it was just a broken solder connection at the bridge rectifier. All good now ;)

Happy, happy clients for work, but yesterdy I had been awake and working for them since 11:30pm the night before.
I just got home finally @ 8:30pm, and all is well. No details on this one. Just a job well done with more work to come.
I will go to bed @ 11:30pm after being awake 24 hours. It matters not when I wake up tomorrow, whatever time.

Got a small dinner break yesterday where I played some pinball with Luch (as I was working near his place) last night
and bought some much needed parts from him for a couple small projects. Thanks for the great hospitality Mike.

Luch,

Thank you. A second big bump for you here. Not only have you been a gracious host with me several times at your home, (and sold me a sweet pin before)but you came and saw me at my work site on Friday. You met my client (who is a huge pinball fan) invited him over, and between the
two of us did convince him to get off our show site for more than an hour to take some time off and enjoy some pinball at your house.

Owen and I had a great time. We have been friends for almost 20 years. I drove over to your house (and was in the driveway) and he
called me back over to our show site as one of the volunteer Dad's had a problem with his clearcom communication. (It was a headset and mic)
I went over and showed him in two minutes the fix, volume and microphone all good, with latch switching and call, and then he was all good to go.

10 minutes later we were back playing pinball, and eventually Owen I believe may have hit a high score on one of your games possibly?

I hope TOPL hosting goes well on the 22nd Mike. All the very best.

Thank you for the hospitality and the parts I purchased.

PS: Those vid parts were from a Tron upright cab. I gave them to enabler Wongneau today. (He will make a Tron pin topper from them we think)

And so the cycle continues.

Helped Beafraid move part of his collection this basement yesterday. Started AC/DC, never played it before and was in the mid 200 million range by the end of ball 2. an out of time and couldnt finish the game though. Can't wait to get another crack at it.

Great host, goot times, awesome machines.

That basement is gonna be sweet!

What version of the code was acdc running because i know he bought the game a while ago and been sitting in the box till he got the basement done. Speaking of which nice job on the floors and going to be very nice once you setup all your games down there.

TBH, I have no idea. Though it was a good first trial, as I had never played it before.

I replaced the circle light in my Stargate, picking up the last piece of missing plastic this week, and the game will be 100% complete and working. Until a bulb goes ;)

Also fixed dr who flipper problems and found the last issue to fix that game: need or order a new transmitter opto or opto+board depending on cost etc. I hope to find one locally if I am lucky ...

Yes big thanks to Josh for helping me out. Still got some work to do before the pins are in their final resting places. The AC/DC I did have set up in my den and it is running the last update, not the new one. I also keep my pins on 5 ball and easy setting to make it more fun for me and guests that are not pinball players.

Josh did hit a nice jackpot cannon shot with the 3x multiplier lit for i think it was around 87 million!!!

Just finished painting some flowers and butterflies :)

My Farfalla playfield required some challenging little touch-ups and they're all complete now and ready to clearcoat.
I'll post a more detailed step-by-step of what I did later, but suffice it to say my little girl is ecstatic.

Keep corrupting others....Warlock can blame it all on me, and now it looks like I'll be dragging another one along.

An old friend came over tonight, and along with a few others we moved some couches around (wife's requirement for bringing over muscle) and then it was down to serious pinball action while the Jays lost in the background.

Based on our discussions, I feel a purchase is happening in the very near future, despite the fact that he watched the beacon on my High Speed quit (again) and then at the end of the evening the left flipper mechanism on WH20 literally fell apart.

So I've got a few repairs to keep going forward with - I could just replace the part that went, but I think a full rebuild is in order.

Best of all, BK is close. New PIA chip is in, and I just need to put Humpty together again and, fingers crossed, we'll be good.

A great, fun evening!

on Monday night I had a "ToPL Fun Night" at my place. Topl was cancelled this week because of pinburgh so I tested my new basement out with 12 people. Worked well. I will not be big enough to host a regular topl night at my current place but I'll do more special events like this. Because of the smaller number it was also more social, everyone basically spent time chatting with everyone, so it was a great night.
