Collecting can lead to obsession.
Obsession can lead to madness.
The only respite is to control your collecting. (or not...)

Cue Wongneau, and then Williams Fan, maybe
Twilight Zone and then Menace responses.

Then the face palmers!

I blame Walt! (Brewmanager)

LOL. Well said Scott.

I honestly consider myself a collector, but it used to be an obsession that boarderlined on madness. Now I'm at the point I just augment my collection when I feel the need to do so. :)

Fixing others collections is pure madness though.

Que TwilightZone on the maddess of Williams Fan

Spent last night moving his pins to get at his other pins. Then moved those pins into the house. His back door is so narrow, we have to remove the heads off games. This adds quite a bit of time when dealing with newer Sterns. First you get to dismantle, then re-attach during set up.

We accomplished alot in a couple of hours. Moved two games in the basement and setup. Moved a game upstairs and set up. Moved a pile in his garage -- really re-arranged so he has some more space.

Looking foward to moving another bunch with him tonight :FP:

Then tomorrow night, I will move some of my games so I can get at and fold a game for it's trip to Toronto :)

Cheers,
Duane

I feel your pain on removing the heads off the games as I do this for anything that has to leave. Fortunately Sterns have half the connectors as B/W games and the newer games have even less :D How wide is Jason door to get into the house?

Stern have to go like this

B/W have to go like this and have to also make sure the lip the backbox latches onto is off or else it ain't fitting through!

No problem going in the front door, but his stairs are too narrow to go up. So if the games are going up, we need to bring them around back and that one is too narrow.

Duane

Congrats on the TFTC, Slacker! Tough game.. I enjoyed it when I had it.

I've got a WWF Royal Rumble coming in soon that may eventually be for sale too.. lol. Knowing my track record, anyway.

Thank man!
Jenn has only played TFTC few days but I think SST is still her fav. run out of room but that hasn't stop me
good luck with the RR and I'll be sure to watch for it if it comes up since I may need to step into the enabler spot for Mike down this way,
I got a guy looking for a starter DMD and RR might just be up his alley.
Cheers
J..

25 This year! Thats 6.2 pins a month and April still isn't over yet LOL
I will never be able to compete or even try. Like most I watch you post to see whats out there ;)
I think me and you crossed paths once at Brocks but I'm not sure? However with people in common its like running into a guy you only see at the bar you kinda know him and what he's been up to but you don't "Know him" you know?
keep up the hunt my friend for all of us it keeps Pinball alive and well!
P.S
Congrats on the DM I played it at Barry's and got my Ass kicked! lol just can't get the hang of the handels :FP:

Wow, Mike's going for The Big Year! (if anyone out there is in into birding ;) )
Hilarious movie too BTW

Let's see... I shot some clearcoat on a repro WH2O playfield that I corrected, a Stern Cheetah, two Centrigrade 37 and my recently touched-up Farfalla.
Nothing final to show yet, just middle stages.

No other pinball activities to report :D

I got a switch error on the upper rebound switch on my DM and sure enough the common ground wire was broken off. I had a good idea from where based on the length of the broken wire and my past experience wiring up switches on my MAME but I wanted to be sure since there are diodes involved. The last thing I wanted to do with knock out a whole row or column on the switch matrix so confirmed and learned a few things after exchanging a few messages and pics with Menace late last night. Anyways, simple fix and credit dot gone! :D

I never really had to deal with any switch matrix issues on any of my games before so this chart has always been somewhat foreign to me. Now I have a better understanding of it after talking to Menace and will probably make my I500 playfield swap much easier because I was planning to label every switch but there is a method to all this madness it seems!

Even after removing an entire harness, you see pretty quickly that things line up one way. There are a few moments where you'll need to refer back to some pictures, but for the most part it all lines up nicely and seems more scary than it actually is.

Since you'll be doing a hot-swap, it'll be even easier.

Just played around with some frosted, concave and PBL's "abl_f@#$ing_bright" LEDs in the GI on my DM. I left most of the inserts with incandescent bulbs to avoid any strobing or flicker during game play. The only inserts I used LEDs on were the 4 main multiball inserts to add some colour and white inserts like the Retina scan. I played a few games and it isn't too bad or distracting unlike other games like TOM which make the game unplayable in the dark which is how I like it.

I also watched a video on youtube by TNT Amusements and they lit up the kick out saucer on a DM they shopped recently so I did the same.

Most people know I am not really for adding LEDs but it actually works quite well in this game because of the theme. The last thing I wanna add are a set of chrome mirror blades and send out the top handles for rechroming.

Hit up SB today, picked up my new Fire button for my R&B, also made a complete rubber kit and some Novus 2, as I want to bring my game back to life. Never done anything like this before, so when I do get around to doing it, it will be interesting to see the results.

It has been a while since my last confession. I don't quite have the energy to keep up the posting pace I once could.
Between work, pins and a few vids, I think I may take a week or so to brood over things and report back later on it.

I set up 7 of my vids, and a few pins, and all went well. I left the others for later on this week. Happy pinballing gang.

Finally got around to installing the mirror blades on my SM and red DMD filter. The chrome blades work well on this game as the sides are totally exposed.

Thanks for the blades Brock and Todd for ordering me that red filter from pinbits.
