I addressed a couple of small issues on my container FT and got it fully working.
Just needed a wire soldered and a new drive belt for the reel/ball lock toy.

Now it just needs a good clean and shop out.
Loving it!

Not a bad idea, but quick tip... while you're in there make sure the coil plungers are not mushroomed (and check the coil stops as well). If the plunger is mushroomed it will only chew up the new sleeve, and you'll be no further ahead.

Thanks for the heads up. I 'll make sure to give them a good look over.

This is a semi related question but I was playing some newer stern games yesterday at playdium and those flippers and slingshots are so quite. Why is that? are they using different style coil stops or something that soften the noise? Is it just my imagination and the games just look so sexy and new I don't hear how loud they are  It's not a big deal obviously but the noise definitely makes them appear "tighter" and not as clunky.

Its funny you mention the Stern flipper feel and your opinion of them being "tighter" and "not as clunky". Most of the seasoned collectors say the exact opposite, that the new Stern flippers feel cheap and wimpy compared to other Mfg's. :)

:-\ Uh oh maybe that means mine are worse than I thought haha. The games I played yesterday all seemed plenty powerful enough and at least comparable in strength to the flippers in my tales from the crypt they just seemed quieter. Like I said though maybe I'm easily blinded by the new pin appeal.

Woke up early and got to work right away on my games. Little stuff here and there. Pulled the playfield out of my baby pacman. Installed all new rubbers, balls, cleaned it etc. Couple new lights in the hard to get places while it was out. Now I just need to get the game to work...

On a side note I've discovered that I actually like being on vacation a lot better than being at work so I'm probably going to quit my job ;-) being home and playing pinball is a better life to live.

Here, Here!!!

Hmmmmm. What did I do today... or rather, last night?
After getting my new gameroom de-cluttered, I started to set up my TAF... which had been sitting for months!
After playing a couple of balls, one of my coils appears to be locking on and blowing F105 :(
Now, instead of setting up more pins and getting the room ready, it looks like I'll be troubleshooting tonight.
And I was having a great first game after setting it back up too! Damn!

Made my first gameplay video for Tales From The Crypt

I need to come up with a better method then my cell phone taped onto random things haha. I just find gameplay videos useful when I'm looking at games so I'm sure others do as well. As the keeper says "the morgue the merrier".

Pin in the Wild!!

Spotted and played this TFLE in Blue Mountain while I was staying at the Westin there on business.
What a shitty game! Well, it's not as bad as Rolling Stones...

Displays in my PinBot were a bit flaky. Missing a couple of diagonal segments in Player 2 display, and overall generally cruddy...one could definitely live with it, but I decided to order an xPin replacement display kit. K's Arcade had the more expensive blue LED display for the same price as a regular one, so it was a no-brainer to buy the blue set. Didn't spend the extra coin to get the red/blue custom display made especially for PB and HS. Couldn't justify it...as I was already spending money that didn't REALLY need to be spent. Got them put in today...and BOY, they look awesome. Money well spent. The crisp blue displays really pop surrounded by the colour matched LEDs that I put in the Pinbot hands and surrounding planets. And now I have an extra set of displays (minus the one with missing segments on which I am going to practice my board soldering) and display board for another Sys11-A game when I add another to my collection (that will hopefully be a HS for those keeping score).

xPin makes a great product that is easy to install and Brett from xPin was awesome answering some tech concerns before purchase: recommended.
First time ordering from K's Arcade, used the website and spoke to them directly...fast shipping, great customer service: also recommended.

I had the joy of someone targetting our server for a DDOS attack, thankfully my ISP for the server was able to stop the attack with little down time.

I also had my generator installed, so even with a total blackout, I can still play pinball! (and stop the basement from flooding).

Ok, spam-bots are one thing but DDOS attacks? They don't just happen at random.

Haters gotta hate, I suppose..

Maybe a local ambulance chaser from the Peel Region is upset you beat him to that Devil's Dare

So today is the day I'm supposed to be picking up that Devils' Dare, but I have yet to get any confirmation from the seller about it. (as I suspected would happen) I will continue to try and make contact, but my guess is the game has been sold out from under me.

Stay tuned!

Yesterday I dropped some quarters into my old machine. It's kinda a bitter sweet feeling, since it was an Italian import that is now on route. I'm glad it's another game in the area, and that it great exposure for pinball. My old game is full of led's and looks amazing inline with the others there. Since I played the shit outta it, I'm ok with letting my High School nostalgia go

You'd think for .50 cents a game it would give ME better scores... 5 games and I didn't even get a replay. Wtf

So, I completed my first true board repair last night on TAF.
Thanks to Dr. Menace for the guidance.

Read it in the news ;)

Alright, so finally got in touch with the Devils Dare seller and my hunch was somewhat correct. I will not be picking the game up as I suspected. He apparently decided to accept a trade (and neglected to let me know)... Someone is apparently trading him a GTB Spiderman for the DD, and it is supposed to take place this weekend. He did say however that if the trade didn't go through this weekend he would sell me the game. (I'm not holding my breath)
