Sorry to hear about your lost Devils Dare, Menace.

I was eagerly awaiting your findings if you were successful in obtaining the names of the douchnozzle's trying to snake the game from you.

That does suck about DD, the artwork on that game looked amazing.

I'm feeling good tonight. I crushed the high score on my Tales From The Crypt and I got the second highest score on my Hollywood Heat! I almost feel like I shouldn't stop playing to even write this  To be honest I'm more proud of the second highest score on my Hollywood Heat. I thought I had created an unbeatable high score on it that I would never be able to reach again. It has remained for at least a year maybe two now with a ton of games being put on the machine but I was oh so close this time. The TFTC I've had less than a year and I knew the day would come I would demolish my old high score because I was always close to hitting a free ball milestone. I also reached "play the organ" frenzy mode which is a first for me. Now my goal is "crypt jam" (wizard mode) and successful death save  (There's an award for it).

Did some "repairs" last night on tftc. I noticed one of the GI lights was out and once I see something I can't unsee it so I had to pull the glass and replace it. Then I noticed another... and another. I have no clue how I've missed a few of them but they were clearly old bulbs in there that hadn't been changed in a long time :FP: Also noticed one of the GI was really bright so I pulled the bulb and it was a 442A ? Dunno but I changed it with a #47 and all is well.

hmm show the game some love, get a high score... coincidence?

I have always found this to be true.
Whenever a repair a pin, clean it up, or even just set it up after a long time in storage, I always seem to have an awesome game.
Makes you wonder :?:

Played a little LOTR, and then spent some time trying to track down why the music sounded staticky. I think it might just be flaky connections to the speakers, so I'll try to replace those this weekend, but it's strange that the only games I've noticed this on are LOTR and TSPP. Something specific to Stern's sound maybe? I'd blame the speakers, but LOTR has Flipper Fidelity speakers in it, so that's something different. Anyway, something else to add to the repair list-I think I need a day off work just to go through and try to fix everything at once.

I'll wait until the LEs are selling for $5K this time around. I'm tired of looking like this guy >>> :FP:

NOOOOOOOO I was robbed. Playing Hollywood Heat... in the zone... best game on the horizon... multiball is active... just a couple more hits of any switch and I will have beaten the high game, then seemingly out of nowhere as soon as I hit the special the flippers temporarily go dead. All three balls drained and I'm left just a few measly points behind my all time greatest achievment

I immediately take the glass off and try and replicate the situation to see if it was some sort of error (which I believe it was because I've never seen that before) but I can't seem to reproduce it.

The pin gods are not with me tonight :?

Simple fix for a bad speaker wire in LOTR fixed the right speaker cutting out, and then I realized that the other problem I had was some glass rattle from the sub. Managed to minimize it, and then play a pretty epic game. Managed to hit Destroy the Ring on ball 1, and was on track to get a new GC score, but none of the multiballs did much. Ended up with just under 100M (best so far is 109). It really reinforced that I need to get those upgraded coils though-it's always AFTER you've been playing for a while and are going for the second ring shot to destroy it that you just can't make it up that center ramp :)

That is awesome and I also agree you need to upgrade your coils to these ones from Pinball Life for those long and epic games

Anyways, last night I borrowed a good friend's Toyota Sienna to haul this back for him today from Barrie. I am sure he will be happy tomorrow morning when we switch back cars and brings this beauty home for his wife and kids to enjoy for a long time.

I also took advantage last night too and brought home a game that I have been meaning to bringing back for a second and final time which is The Shadow. I guess I will have to leave it setup next in the middle for now until the new owner of my STTNG comes to pick up in a few weeks. Who knows maybe he will find a way to come sooner and pick it up.

Funny how the last 3 games I brought back were ones I had before such as JM and DM. Anyways, my short term wish list is complete and hate to say it but I am done for now. I know all my friends and brother in-law Keith are probably saying "Yeah Right" but really I am at a point where I pretty much have all the titles I want and I have owned the ones which I was curious about. I can't part with anything in my line up and next step will just have to be moving and continuing to expand the collection. I wish I had more space so I would have a dedicated row of 3-4 wedgies like Drano. Who knows maybe I might just find a way to squeeze in just one EM in my current room :FP:

I just did a bunch of minor things on my pins. Installed passive ball stops on my Shadow and ToM so I can flip the playfields up without taking out the balls, (Awesome upgrade, will be posting a how-to) repaired the lockdown bar on my RFM so it sits/latches properly, installed the plumb-bob tilt on ToM and put new bolts in the coin door on ToM so I don't have to look at crappy rusted bolts holding in my nice new coin door. I also took the opportunity to take my ball trough apart on Shadow and clean it to try and help my ball sticking issue.

Woo hoo! Big thanks to Mike Wong for bringing home TOM for me! (You can borrow my minivan anytime bro!)

This game is one of my very favourites. Simple, pure fun and feels good. It is my daughter's favourite of all modern pins.

Mike Wong and I have looked for 15 months for an example of this game to bring home for my wife and kids and myself.
Although we have seen 4-5 examples come and go (into other collectors and friends hands) in that timeframe, those
copies were really meant for others. This one finally seems right for our family now.

I am always happy to upgrade to a HUO example, or one that is near mint, but honestly, the elements that concern me
most are correct on this pin. The rest is cosmetic and can be addressed down the line.

Thank Mike. A long wait.

Congrats on your Shadow! That makes Shadow, Johnny Mnemonic and Demolition Man all returning favourites to Wong's basement.
It has the best elements of the old basement, plus all the wonder of the new basement now. A great return, and full cirlce for the
space Mike has available.

Time to shuffle my own basement before the snow flies. The fall will be some work, the winter will be lots of fun!

Thanks again Mike. Very much appreciated.

Scott I am glad to have finally found you a TOM to add to your collection and felt bad because I think I would have a hard time ever letting mine go. The only other pin I can see myself wanting to bring back and keeping is Judge Dredd. I will not be actively looking for one at this moment and going to just take it easy for a while. It's been a hectic 36 months and been through 30 games so far. Fortunately these ones coming back for Round #2 are much nicer examples then my initial ones and will be "keepers". I'm glad I did get certain titles out of my system such as Indiana Jones, Cirqus Voltaire, The Simpsons Pinball Party and even Lord of the Rings which I wouldn't mind owning again in the near future is space permits.

Thanks for sharing about the new additions, guys. Nice to see games ending up in collections where they "belong"...a place where they are truly cherished as icons, and not because of their market value. A lot of us have Scott and Mike to thank for making our own gamerooms what they are today...nice to see the karma wheel return full circle so they can get back to the fun and excitement of adding games to THEIR OWN collections.

Also, HUGE thanks to my buddy Walt for handling the transport, even though we did forget to swap all the bits LOL

Finally, big thanks to Menace and Adriano for your hospitality. I was a Saturday of hanging out with friends that was long overdue.

Karma has finally caught up to you Brock. Did you check to make sure you got the head keys for both games too? ;)

After doing a bunch of reading, took apart my flipper assembly last night. Filed the slight mushrooming on the plungers, put in new sleeves and coil stop, adjusted the spacing between the pawl and the bushing, set the proper flipper angle - now the flippers work great. So gratifying to fix it myself.
