For those that own a Theatre of Magic will probably be interested in this fix as it addresses the software disabling the trunk when you hit it with the ball as it rotates. You can see it here starting around the 1:25 minute mark.

Ingo from german-pinball on pinside has taken an idea from the late Leon Borre who posted this TOM trunk fix many years ago that also works and developed a plug and play solution over the past 2-3 months.

http://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Leon_Borre_Theatre_of_Magic_Bug_Fix

Ingo came up with two different prototype "leon" boards

1) Cut the power-line to the eddy-board while motor is running
2) Cut the switch column-line when the motor is running

Since he did not own or have a TOM accessible, be built this test circuit to demonstrate how both boards would work.

These prototype boards were sent to a pinsider to install and test in his TOM a few weeks later. Everything from Ingo's concept test rig worked perfectly in the actual game.

At the same time Ingo has also re-designed the Trunk opto board too.

Here are the 3 final available board designs:

Here is the final pricing:

BOARDS COMPLETE SOLDERED:
single Leon-board $25usd
single trunk-opto board $40usd
trunk opto-board with Leon board integrated $58usd

DIY-sets:
single Leon-board $20usd
single trunk-opto board $50usd
trunk opto-board with Leon board integrated $35usd

$6usd shipping worldwide

I've been following this since day 1 because this software bug is very annoying and there are times where I cradle the ball during a game just so the trunk can finish it's rotation so I don't hit it by accident disabling it. Ingo said the boards were going into production estimates to ship these out in the next 4 weeks. I organized a small group buy with myself, Grauwolf, Warlock, FastEd, monkeybug and Dave Smith.

If you are interested in getting this for your TOM send Ingo a PM on pinside if you have an account there:

If you don't have a pinside account you can shoot him an email here and mention you are interested in his TOM boards.

Here is a video Ingo posted of the new trunk opto board with the tester hooked up.

I can't wait to get the Leon board installed in my game so it fixes this multiple trunk hit software glitch once and for all.

Some more teaser pics from Ingo's production line. Him and his wife were busy soldering over the holidays and hoping to start shipping boards out tomorrow.
