I've been pretty vocal about Spooky pins not gelling with my pinball interests, however, I think this game looks great and has a lot of potential. I watched a gameplay video--the different modes and lock look pretty neat. They squeezed a lot of gameplay out of a pretty basic lookin' game. With all the folks in the collector community clamouring for classic Stern and Bally pins, the majority being single level affairs with no ramps (like TNA), I think there's definitely a market. The spirit of the 80s is alive and well.
All the haters need to watch the Dead Flip stream of this game to understand. It has an incredible light show, all new techno soundtrack with a 10" subwoofer. This game is killer.
Real pinball players don't need ramps to have a great time!
I've spent so much time watching the game play footage that I think I prefer the look of the white wood if you can imagine. I don't mind the backbox and side art but the playfield artwork and plastics just don't grab me. I also think stencilled side art would have looked cool on it too. I hope to get to play one one day. It looks like a blast.
