Trying to Document Old Arcade Locations

The Wizard's Castle in Erin mills town center changed spots a few times. At one point it was in the large spot across from the clock that used to be a movie theater. This would have been late 90s. by the early 2000s it was right near the entrance beside Tim Horton's.

You also missed the greatest arcade Ontario has ever seen, Orbit at Pacific Mall in Markham. This was by far the best arcade we've ever had, but I'm biased since it was pretty much the only place to go to play Japanese rhythm games.

Just finding this thread as well.

There were two arcades in downtown Hamilton across from Gore Park. The Casino and Crystal Palace.

Also, every mall had an arcade too. Center Mall. Limeridge Mall. Jackson Square. And Eastgate Square.

I used to frequent the arcade at Eastgate which was near Collegiate's Sports and the food court. Dog-legged room with vids on one wall and down the center and pins on the other wall.

Also, every convivence store store and pizza joint had a game or two.

The stores near my high school in the mid eighties has gems like Arkanoid, Double Dragon and Twin Cobra.

My interest in pinball was started by the High Speed pinball at Oodles O' Noodles. That is when pinball for me made the leap from just aimlessly bashing a ball to trying to accomplish certain goals and being drawn in by the story.

Wish I had a nice High Speed in the collection.

I was just chatting with a coworker about the Centre Mall food court, which reminded me of the Wizard's Castle down the little wing by the food court where I played some of my first arcade games / pins. Eastgate Square like you mentioned was a great one too. Way at the back was a game whose name I can't recall, but it was a gun game with physical props behind glass. I assume some sort of lightgun was used to confirm a hit, and then mugs that were designed to break apart would shatter down to the ground and whatnot. Plus a pretty great 2-player mech battle game with a mondo seat and joysticks.

That game is great, one of the grails I plan on getting when I have enough room.

It's a Namco game called Quick & Crash. It uses a clever trick of pulling the mug down really quickly and spraying out some chips when you make a hit so it really feels like you smashed the mug. So much fun.

lol! I've actually seen them sell on the facebook ontario group twice in the last few years. I don't think it's super rare or expensive, just a big machine so it's not easy to find the room for it.
