I picked up this TSPP about a month ago for $4000. I cleaned it up, put in new shiny pinballs, some rubbers, and then took it to Starburst for a thorough review and a couple minor tweaks. It's working 100%.
I've installed the Premium LED kit from Cointaker, along with the Kwiki-mart sticker and comic book guy sticker.
I have invoices to show that I'm into this machine for more than the $4500 I'm asking. This is not a quick-flip to make a buck, so I wont accept less than $4500.

It's not HUO (at least I don't think so) as there's some wear at the plunger/ball kick out, very little wear at the I&S hole, and the cab is less than 100%, but looks great overall.
The Playfield itself looks fantastic. Especially with the new LEDs.

Email for pics.

FYI: I'm selling as I've got very limited space and am looking to pickup another pin instead.

Re: FS: TSPP $4500 in GTA

At the risk of sounding accusatory, I gotta say, this sort of thing always sounds unnecessary to me. A machine that was $4000 a few weeks ago, and one which sounded like it was ready to go is now $4500. Forget the rubbers, stickers and lights. That sort of thing are just trimmings and are your choice and not something you should expect to recoup in my opinion. One also wonders, why you bothered gussying it up and spending good money getting it tweaked and then unload it. Playing it for a while first to see if it is a keeper would seem to be the smarter thing to do. Now there is a $500 premium on a machine that may be completely unnecessary to the person who is capable of doing their own tweaks. If this pin changes hands 3 more times, it will be a $5500 to $6000 pin. I say play it for a while to get a little something out of your $500 and then eat it. Many of us here have done that...more than once.

Am I crazy to feel this way ? Feel free to tell me so.

That said, someone out there will probably gladly hand over $4500 for it, it just seems a bit of a shame to me.

You are not but I don't wanna shit in the seller's thread and told him at $4000 I probably had a buyer interested who doesn't care for HUO or mods and probably could have resolved the switch matrix issues SB fixed himself. Unfortunately it was too late as SB was pretty much done the work but the bill wasn't too bad surprisingly.

So if this isn't moving at $4500 I would suggest removing the CT LEDs as others might not see it add any value (like myself) and actually creates work for me cause I gotta remove them  You can re-use these LEDs in future games you buy. Good luck on the sale otherwise and probably be easier if you just posted the pics of the game here so people can see. If you need help hosting the images let me know otherwise just add them as attachments.

Re: FS: TSPP $4500 in GTA

The flaw in your logic from what I see is the following:
the next buyer wont need to invest a dime so there's no reason why it will cost them more than the $4500 they pay to sell it again. Therefore, the price wont be increasing with every trade.
You also stated "A machine that was $4000 a few weeks ago, and one which sounded like it was ready to go is now $4500."
If it had been "ready to go", it wouldn't have been taken to Starburst. Slight repairs were necessary. I don't feel as though I need to eat that bill since the game is unplayable otherwise.
I get your comments on the LEDs. That's a fair opinion. Not mine, but still valid.

Overall, I think that $4500 for a TSPP in this shape is still a great deal. If you know of others for sale, let's compare.

In this case I think your error might have been mentioning what you paid. If nobody knows what you paid, then your asking price can't look unreasonable. An exception to this is if you're selling for what you paid, which in a sense you are, but in the same sense you're not.

Case in point - my WW. I stated my purchase point, ate the gas, exchange rate and import taxes, and stated that I'd move it at my purchase point only. It took a while to sell and 3 deals before one closed, but I hope the new owner is enjoying it!

Re: FS: TSPP $4500 in GTA

According to this thread here: http://www.maaca.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12712

You are asking way too low because Playdium said you should ask $6000 at least for a TSPP  This one is a steal at $4500 guys, go go go!

All jokes aside, the pics will speak for themselves I am sure and will say $4500 for a TSPP is great value when you look at what you get in the game and deep rules too. The current LEs don't even come close to packing what this game has to offer at least not for almost double the price.

This.

It was my suggestion to the seller to divulge the history of the game since most know where it would have come from anyway. So I told him it was better to be up front about it.

I like the look of LED's but they're a pain to install.. we all try to recoup our costs in one way or another so I see no harm in it. If it doesn't sell it's up to the seller to decide what to do next (ie. drop the price, pull some mods, take it off the market, etc.). That of course still remains to be seen. Some people just want a turn-key pin.

$4500 is the going rate for an unmodded HUO example, so this price seems fair.

And I have to add - price is definitely in the ballpark for what I paid for mine, and I love it to bits! Awesome game, great add to the collection!

Re: FS: TSPP $4500 in GTA

Here is another suggestion if you list on here as well as other places like kijiji. Always mark up extra $200-300 so we all feel special for being part of PBREV and get a lower price :p

http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell ... Z477596121

But seriously on kijiji you should always list a bit higher to give yourself room because you will most definitely get low balled. Most of us on here should know that if you mention you are firm on price we try to respect that. Maybe if it doesn't sell for a few weeks someone might make you a lower offer or you can always reduce you asking price too.

this is a good price for this machine , lets not go all pinside or maaca on him . if you don't like his price don't buy it , and as our mother's would say 'if you don't have something nice to say keep your mouth shut"

Re: FS: TSPP $4500 in GTA

I stand by my post. Although someone may not have to spend money to fix what you have already fixed, the hobby is full of people who spend unwise money on a machine and then pass that cost along to others. Someone always pays it and $4500 is not out-of-line for a TSPP, but that is no rebuttal to my point. My point is, unnecessary accelerated inflation of pin prices is not conducive to the hobby. Someone "in the know" could very likely have repaired the machine without spending hundreds of dollars on it. Although, I'm perplexed because it sounds like it just needed a "tweaking" but now apparently, it was "unplayable." That's a big difference. You also make it sound like it was not very expensive to get it repaired, yet you have spent over $500.

You seemed very thrilled with it when you bought it. Was it "unplayable" then ?

And Luch, I hope you are not telling people on a public forum to keep their mouth shut. No one here is being uncivil. At least not yet.

Re: FS: TSPP $4500 in GTA

I had someone from Saskatchewan inquire as to whether I would pack it up for shipping.
Any tips on what that would entail, or the easiest way to ship long distance?
Ie: if I dropped it off at VIA,Greyhound,FedEx... Would any of them ship it, legs on, head down, unboxed?

Otherwise, I have to get a crate and pack it?
I just don't see doing that properly my first time. Too risky.

Comments?

Agreed. I had a similar thing in play for my O1, wound up selling it to warlock instead. There's a thread on how to pack up a pinball machine somewhere out there in cyberspace, though. Hunt around for it.

Re: FS: TSPP $4500 in GTA

Looks like you are already holding off on considering shipping your pin. That is wise. Preparing a machine for shipping is a pain in the butt, unless it is going by a moving company which is rare. With patience, a local sale is found eventually, especially if the pin is at all desirable. I have had to resort to shipping a few pins, but in every case, the pins were not mainstream collectibles and I had to be willing to ship to the first buyer that showed interest. Clearly not the case here.
