How would that be possible

They have to pony up the cash if the kickstarter succeeds

If they got to the point where they could get 90000 by putting in another 10k themselves, then that's probably what happened. Yeah, they're on the hook, but they're paying themselves, so they're just out transaction/kickstarter fees.

It'll be interesting to see how this one develops.

I think kickstarter takes 4% and amazon payments take 3% so it's around a 7% fee.
