Well that was fast!

Got my first pin setup Friday night, here I am sat night after about 4 hours of straight play with a broken piece.
It's a Lord of the rings pin. The little fork sensor on the mystery shot broke where the metal pins hold it to the sensor. If that description makes any sense...

So I can't re attach the fork because the plastic that holds it is broken on one side. Any tips of how to repair this? Or do I need to replace the entire sensor now?

That' a commonly broken switch arm on LOTR. Pretty sure I kept a spare in the coin box when I owned one. You'll probably have to buy one or two.

As a new pinball owner, are there some other parts i should try to get my hands on all at once, in one order.
shouldn't need bulb's as this LOTR has been changed to LED's
extra balls?
some rubber bumpers?
other common parts needed for lord of the ring?

Not sure if your playfield has any wear but you might want to consider picking up some cliffys

You might also want to pick up a pair of these special LOTR coils because the original ones start to lose strength after long periods of play

Good idea to stock some standard fuses in 3A and 5A, order 5-10 of each.

Order two of these because the original ones can short and blow if you cradle a ball for too long. This one is the proper spec and won't blow as easily.

These are just some of the things off the top of my mind. Good luck and sorry to hear something broke so quickly but shit happens. You are bashing a ball bearing around the playfield so something bound to break.

One last thing, you might also want to look into getting either of these Arwin plastic protectors since the ball gets kicked up to the shire quite often

This one here diverts the ball to the wireform which returns to the left flipper. As a result I think you miss collecting a few hundred souls but I will take that over a broken Arwin plastic.

i emailed stern just to see if they might send a few parts my way, but i'm also going to be ordering some of these parts to be ready for repairs in the future.

Maybe if you want to tag along with their monthly Marco order. Good news is they will include the shipping, exchange and their mark up on whatever you want so there is no surprises. Otherwise I would ordet directly from Marco or even Pinball Life if you aren't close by to player one.
