Hey all,

I just wanted to create a thread where we can all (if you choose) lay out what we do for a living as well as some other skills we may have. It's a great way to promote our businesses and help out our humble community. :)

I'll start!

I've been an artist pretty much my whole life and ended up running a graphic department of a mid sized print shop for the last 17 years. That said I have made a bunch of connections over the years so if you need something printed I can certainly help you out -- or at least point you in the right direction. :)

Aside from that I make custom pinball parts under the moniker "Pinball Customs" (www.pinballcustoms.com) as well as the obvious -- originator of this forum :)

I am a full time union chairperson (currently as it is a term job).
So if you're having trouble with your WSIB claim I can at least give you an idea of what you may need to succeed and give you an honest opinion of your chances.

For my day job I'm a jack of all trades at an electronics component disti, but my two official titles are Design Segment Manager and IT Manager. I own a small sound & lighting company on the side, and I seem to have a knack for repairing pinball machines for all you guys.

I work at the Toyota plant assembling corollas. But I was a licensed auto mechanic before that which helped with my skills to fix physical and electronic repairs on pinball machines.

"I put big lego together". This is what I gave my son as an answer when he was 4 years old and asked me "what I did" for a living.

I own and operate Pandor Productions, a medium sized, service oriented Audio Visual Production + Event Production company.
Sound, lighting, staging, draping, trussing and video elements are all used to make people's corporate and private events happen.

22 years along this path, I tell my now 10 year old son that it is still just like putting "big lego" together... (plus paperwork)

I'm the Dealer Principal and General Manager of Subaru of Hamilton

If anyone is in the market for a new or used vehicle, even if it's a different make, I would be happy to help with putting you in touch with a contact that can help you. Over the last 25 years in the car business I have developed more than a few helpful relationships. I can also help with service or parts of course.

I'm a lab specialist for R&D. I work in television now (production switchers), but worked telecomm for 15 years prior. Prior to that I worked 10 years in the silkscreen t-shirt/promo business as a printer, and I also worked part-time with the City as a Zamboni attendant (yes, I was a Zamboni driver). I have a technician background. Specialising in planning, procurement, installations, commissioning. I like to think of solutions other people haven't thought of. If you need to know about coax, fiber, RF, or pretty much any type of cable I'm your man. Basically I'm a professional troubleshooter, jack of all trades type guy.

Oh and I recently purchased a second hand hot tub so I'm ramping up on my knowledge here too. :)

To make money I work for a subcontractor of Rogers cable as a collection tech. (That's right, I'm one of the guys that disconnects you if you don't pay.) Before this I had my own business doing satellite installs and service. I was installing mini dishes in Canada years before expressvu came out, and have even worked on the old 10' dishes. I've been doing home theater work for about 15 year on and off, but I don't keep track of all the new technology anymore.

I grew up on a farm, working the fields, feeding the aminals ect. This also gave me lots of experience working with heavy machinery, both driving and fixing. The skill set of the average farmer is pretty diverse. In school I took a lot of "shops" focusing mostly on mechanical and architectural drafting (we used paper and pencil back then). After high school I worked for a "start to finish" construction company. I did everything from concrete work to framing to roofing to interiors.

For fun I'm always creating things, I've always got a project or two on the go. Everything from art projects like painting miniture models (warhammer) to building my virtual pinball machine. I try to use my garage space for woodworking (I find it very therapeutic) but really I'm a Jack of all trades. I haven't met a challenge that I haven't been able succeed at.

I'm always willing to help, send me a message
