This totally blows. I use winamp on my HTPC because it works well and properly with my system and remote. Dammit.

I remember using versions of Winamp like 0.3, 0.6, 0.66 ... etc back in the day when I was in 1st or 2nd year university in '98. It's the end of an era

That's sad to hear. I too used it from around '99 to 2007 or so. I haven't used it since though. (not because I found another player... I just don't listen to much music these days) I loved the visualizations, and it had a heck of a good stream ripper. I'd leave for work in the a.m., and have a shit-ton of HQ MP3s by the time I got home.

Definitely the end of an era.

Listening to Winamp right now on the Pc. Not a fan of it though on my Android.

There must be a good open source version out there?
