My buddy owned one with led issues . I heard it was common in older ones
But not sure how common. My hope is if it's an original and it hasn't had issues after 4 years I should be in the clear.

If anyone else is interested, I may be planning to sell my Emerald Limited. It does have the original light boards but they all work perfect. PM for more details.

Great price for a RR, too bad it is in Nova Scotia. Guess limited market there or it would be scooped up in Ontario or US.

True enough. Seller is well known however. Shipping a pin is low risk in my opinion. I've shipped at least 8 now, from as far away as Las Vegas. Guess it all depends on your comfort level!

Just an FYI on WOZ light boards. I emailed JJP tech last December asking about them as I was looking at a used machine. If you get the certificate number off a machine you are interested in, email JJP tech with that number they can tell you all about the machine that they are aware of. I.e. what light boards it came with, any service repairs that went through them. When I inquired here is verbatim what the tech replied with....
"That game has +5v LED boards, making it one of the earliest ECLE WOZ made at the factory. It is possible that the customer at some point changed out the LED boards to 7.5v but we have no record of that in the system so it is safer to assume that the game has +5v boards in it. It was also made prior to the Unified Power Supply, which was introduced in November 2013. Therefore the game has a 40amp switching power supply to drive the LEDs. In my experience, this LED system has held up okay and the switching power supplies are solid and easily replaced should they fail down the line. I will say, however that much of the discussion surrounding the LED board issues has focused on this +5v system, either fairly or unfairly. Most of the WOZ games in existence have the 7.5v version 1.4 LED boards and the very newest games use the new 2.0 LED system which is very similar to the one used in Hobbit and especially Dialed In! which has seen almost no problems at all. There will be soon a 2.0 retro-fit kit available which you could purchase and install on this game if you wished, but that adds to the cost (the kit will cost possibly $900 and require lots of labor).
Overall, I personally wouldn't worry too much but I work for the company so take that for what it's worth. If you want to avoid the LED questions entirely, new in box ruby red 75th anniversary games are available from the company and our big Canadian distributor Player One Amusements."
