Most Tron machines, especially HUO will cost that without mods. With mods you are likely into the 6K+ range.

I know beafraid has one, but his price is higher than what you are looking for.

Just sayin...

I think you might have to adjust your expectations a little bit especially if you are expecting the following Tron mods installed for $5800.

Fiber Optic Ramp Illumination Kit $399usd
http://www.pinbits.com/index.php?main_p ... 5c41f421f5

Arcade Mod $299usd
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic ... second-run

Plug and Play modded Hallmark Light Cycles - $150usd
**This could be made yourself for about $50-70 cheaper depending where you get each light cycle from
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Stern-TRON-Pinba ... 4183ac87ac

Black Mirror Blades - $195usd or Chrome Mirror Blades - $84usd
http://pinballsidemirrors.com

Pop Bumper Dress Kit - $49usd
http://www.pinbits.com/index.php?main_p ... cts_id=534

Plastics Protectors - $32usd
http://www.pinbits.com/index.php?main_p ... cts_id=506

Shaker Motor - $195usd
http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball ... 5027-00-01

Cliffy Protectors - $105usd
http://passionforpinball.com/tron.htm

Recognizer Bank Decal from Brock aka pinballcustoms.com - $11.99cdn :p
http://www.pinballcustoms.com/shop/tron ... arget-bank

Flynn Sign - $75usd
http://www.dkpinball.com/DKWP/?page_id=152

DK Pig 2 - $115usd + $19.95usd for power connector cables
** This is used to plug and power all your mods so they are interactive with your game such as being triggered via roll over switch
http://www.dkpinball.com/DKWP/?page_id=457

DK FTS-8 power splitter board - $24.95usd
** This is used to plug and power all your mods if you don't wanna spend the money on PIG2 and want all your mods static and lit up all the time.
http://www.dkpinball.com/DKWP/?page_id=396

Coin Taker LED Kit - $184.95usd
** You could probably do this for easily half this if you took the time to map our your own colors and track all the different types of sockets used for each.

There are probably other popular mods that people do such as adding a Flipper Fidelity Speaker upgrade kit or even a $90-100 Polk Subwoofer from Futureshop or Bestbuy when it goes on sale.

Another thing that might matter to someone buying a Tron is which version of run it is because the first few runs came with a 3D translite and screened artwork on the cabinet.

The 2nd run came with the CLU helmet and cabinet decals

The 3rd run came with the "two chicks" as most people called it and think it might have come with an additional CLU translite too and cabinet decals.

Please don't take any offense to any of this but this was one of the main reasons why I avoided Tron for over a year. Brock was calling me each time Stern was doing another run to get on before they are gone! It's a very slippery slope when it comes to mods and when I saw what Eli's did for the fiber optic ramp kit I was sold and immediately bought one and started going to town on it. I'm probably into mine for close to $7k and I'm sure other owners like Drano will chime in and tell you the same.

It's a great game and probably one of the best Stern offerings as of late next to ACDC and Metallica. If you haven't had much time to read into the rules feel free to check up Adam's write up as he clearly approves

Good luck on your search and I might be selling mine very soon so if you want to come by and check it out feel free to send me a PM.

Just looking at past posts guys, anything is possible.

[SOLD]: Tron Pro $5500 Firm. Tons of Mods.

by Chambahz » Fri Sep 13, 2013 8:19 pm

Tron Pro: includes lighted ramps, arcade mod, shaker, LEDs for the GIs, Recognizer mod, Flynn's Arcade sign, & Hallmark Light Cycles.
Note: Machine is in pristine condition. Only flaw is that the orange lightcycle doesn't light up. Replacement Orange Hallmark cycle included.
Located in the GTA.

One fire-sale does not a precedent make.
I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone willing to part with a TRON, let alone at your suggested price.

Good luck!

With all respect to Andrew... he's known to buy games, get tired of them, and then sell them... sometimes at a loss. Maybe for him that's the cost of having a bit of fun and moving on. I won't specuate or speak for him.

However, like Mike, I have many (expensive) mods in my tron and these are not the type of items that the 'next guy' would probably rip out (as was the case with my recent CV purchase :D ).
A HUO and heavily modded Tron should be in the mid to high $6K range.... and most definitely not under. The fact that it's an awesome game should do nothing to drop the value. You don't often see them being 'dumped'.

Good luck with your search.

Brock's old Tron barely made it through the weekend with Chambahz

Here is a more recent heavily modded Tron that sold for $6800 and keep in mind the lighted ramps here are just the one from kimspinball.com and not the one from pinbits aka Eli ramps.

The next time you buy a modded pin for dirt cheap and decide to give the mods away for free, please let me know :p

Anyway, FWIW to the OP, I picked up a fairly un-modded Tron Pro (girl version) a few months ago for around $5500. It came with a Cointaker LED kit and that's all. Tron seems to be one that holds its value pretty well. You may be right, waiting for Tron VE may be the way to go on this one. Then the current market value of Tron will drop to a more reasonable amount.

Best of luck!

Maybe I should just wait for the Tron VE to come out...... ;)

I say that would be an awesome idea.
Then you can pay the full retail price plus HST; and then add $1500-$2000 in extras that almost every other tron owner has added to theirs and then sell it for $5800 :D

Let us know how you like installing all those mods too... especially the ramp ligthing!

I don't know about that Brock.....I've had the IM listed for 4500.00 now for a couple of weeks....a few nibbles, but thats about it. And that includes about 500.00 worth in mods!

Also basing your price off a machine sale coming up on 1 year is not the way to go. Prices have continued to go up in the last year. You will be hard pressed to find a HUO under 6k (unmodded) in Canada now. All the power to you if you do.

LOL I should have posted $4800.00 and watched the Tron melt down by the current owners......

Not a meltdown, but you may have seen a few of these  or :FP:.

My TRON Pro is a first run with 3D translite and screened artwork cab purchased NIB.
While I've added the following mods:
- Eli's Fiber Optic Ramp Illumination Kit
- Arcade Mod
- Plug and Play modded Hallmark Light Cycles
- Drano's Black Mirror Blades
- Pop Bumper Dress Kit
- not Plastics Protectors, but Tron PRO Playfield Dress / Protector Kit
- not Cliffy but Mantis Protector
- Recognizer Bank Decal from Brock aka pinballcustoms.com
- DK Pig v1 (not v2)

...(you can do the math) I would not expect to recoup their full cost. But given how decent a game Tron is and the overall pricing of pinball machines lately, I could not see myself letting this game go for $5800. (Personally, I'd have a hard time letting it go at all).

Just for a basic comparison, on the retail side, Pinball life have on their site:
Stern Tron Pro Pinball Machine (New In Box)
Please call 847-515-3415 and ask for Terry if you are interested in purchasing this pinball machine.
$6,200.00

If I were selling my modded up Tron (and I'm not) I would ask $6800 for it today.
Will need to be a fire sale to be under $5500 even unmodded IMO.
Good luck with your search!

I'd do $6799 for mine but only until end of this weekend

Good luck to the OP in his search for a HUO Tron and anything is possible.
