Xenon Issue

I recently acquired a sadly neglected Xenon. It had no battery so I installed a NVRAM (MPU has no corrosion) and reprogrammed the settings. A couple of things are going on,
every now & then the machine "blanks" out & resets during game play. The other thing is that when the Mota bonus reaches 40K the machine starts adding 100 points like crazy. Any ideas on what's going on?

For the machine that "blanks" out & resets during game play, it could be many things:
o +5V supply too low from Solenoid Driver board (could be filter cap, regulator)
o J4 connector on MPU may have some corroded pins, or MPU J4 header might have cold solder joints
o bad sockets for chips on MPU
o missing diode on a flipper coil causing spike confusing/resetting MPU
o SLAM switch

For the adding 100 points like crazy, probably a 100 pt switch gapped too close (on any of the pop bumpers)
or a leaky/bad 0.05 uF disc capacitor across these switches.
o Placing the machine in diagnostic switch test mode would reveal any detected-closed switches.

Good luck!

UPDATE: Source of blanking out has been traced down to the sounds plus board, sent to Tommy for repair. 100 point issue has been traced to a bad capacitor on one of the switches. The machine is fine now, thanks for the help.

Oh no! Machine was blanking out again. Sent my solenoid board to Tommy for repair. He replaced that old capacitor that's on the 5 volt line among other things. Just played a marathon session, all is good now. Unlike the Old Chicago, I will replace the playfield entirely by myself to save on some cash. :D
