Hobbit needs to have the pitch jacked up and then increase the flipper strength a tad and the game is a totally different player. Unfortunately the floor model at Playdium plays like a wet noodle.

Where you are located in London, I highly suggest you head over to Speed City Records (they are on Sringbank) and talk to Mike. He sells pinball machines out of his shop (he has a bunch setup there for play too) and knows all of the local collectors and can probably put you in touch with some...
If you can't get the sound PCB to work by using the test button (I'm not sure of the exact proceedure, you'll have to check the manual) then it's definitely not the connectors if all the voltages are good.

There is nothing more infuriating than a game that isn't level, and you've been to my place many times so you know all my games are leveled well. The point I was making is leveling a game side to side that has such a small footprint, the resolution of a decent phone with leveling app AS LONG AS...
The thing is you're not framing a house here, and fractions of a degree across the width of a PF isn't going to make that much of a difference, so using a phone based app (as long as you have it zero'd correctly to start) has been fine for me in this application.
