I love my classic Stern. I've dedicated half my gameroom to them.
I sold very nice examples of Nine Ball and Ali over the last 12 months. Dragonfist just arrived recently and isn't leaving though :)
I have lots of old drop targets... not sure why you'd want them though. They'll probably snap...
It's very obviosuly a winter/holiday theme. Maybe has something to do with the fact that the Gottlieb family was Jewish?
The gameplay and action on this pin is pretty cool. I should post a video of the saucer kicking mechanism in action.
Lighting up the different colour columns to award the AAB...
It may also just be that someone already replaced that particular transistor. It's very common to see soldering like that when a component has been replaced and the orange colour is just solder flux.
But testing is of course the only way to know for sure. Very easy to test with a multimeter.
Thinking of selling my Gottlieb Melody.
This is the less common add-a-ball version of Sing Along.
The game features a cool animation feature where the saucers kick the ball into each other toward the right-most saucer before releasing the ball. Coincidentally, this is also one of the key ways...

The transistor for your magnet should be easy to find in the manual under the solenoids...
I've learned (after owning one) that they are relatively uncommon... even the regular production models.
It also doesn't help that this was the height of Bally's cost cutting antics and these machines were not built to last. Luckily this one was in decent enough condition when I found it. I...
Time to get the old spandex on and tease that hair!
I've just wrapped up my Heavy Metal meltdown project and looking to make some space.
This is a one-of-a-kind example of this machine since it is a rare prototype/sample game.
I've located a couple of other owners with similar sample machines...
Canned air first. lots of it.
If the mylar separates from the glue easily, then you are all set to deal with the glue removal.
But, not all mylar seems to behave the same. Some are tougher than others and some seem to react better to heat instead of cold. You'll just have to try and see.
I've always enjoyed playing the one at the Church of the Silver Ball. Not sure if Mike still has it? It belonged to RAB before that I think.
I hear it was one of Harry Williams' last designs. Definitely uncommon.
