TIP Don't let your TOTAN fade away

Awesome! I was really looking forward to the restoration, but couldn't turn this one up either. Enjoy!

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

NO SLEEP TILL A-TOWN!!! 24 days left As expected, Easter Sunday was a write-off. Lots of family activites and gatherings so not a lot of time for the project. All I managed to get done was pull the control panel parts from the rust-remover bath and get the main cabinet off its legs and ready...

    Tim's SKYLAB thread

Add-a-balls were the workaround for the gambling laws. Free games/credits were seen as payouts. Adding a ball simply extends play. The novelty settings are usually for home/free play or ideal for tournament play. Good catch Tim!

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

NO SLEEP TILL A-TOWN!!! 25 days left HALF WAY!!! I didn't do any work on Good Friday but got right back at it today. I was adamant that I wanted to be painting the cabinet by the time I got to the half way mark. Today, I set up the head outside after sanding the bondo repairs smooth. I also...

    Tim's SKYLAB thread

Tim, Find the bonus unit.. take it apart, clean it, put it back in.... I'll bet most or all of this behavior clears up. The bonus unit is a stepper with a wheel full fo contacts. They probably need to be polished and re-greased. Anyone who owns or repairs EMs needs to get comfortable with this...

    The THANKS-giving thread

That was my great pleasure Tim. I've had a lot of help with my recent P&B project that deserves some thanks... but I'll wait until it's done. I'm sure the list will grow.

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

NO SLEEP TILL A-TOWN!!! 27 days left I am fast approaching my mid-point on the time I've given myself for this project. The good news is that many of the small things have been done and my cabinet work has begun. The bad news is that I discoverd that my friend in our graphics production...

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

NO SLEEP TILL A-TOWN!!! 28 days left Small day for the project today. Having decided on a wood-filler and performing a stain test that I was happy with, I simply proceeded to fill, sand and stain the remaining trim. That's about it!

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

NO SLEEP TILL A-TOWN!!! 29 days left Big day today! Another lunch hour spent on cabinet work and small repairs. Before I could apply bondo to square up the head cabinet (or lightbox as it was referred to BITD) I first had to repair some wood that was separating. It's important to remember...

    Skit-B Sh*t Storm

That's awesome Adam. I filed my claim last week also. I should get on the phone tomorrow and see where it's at. I sent them the same 'proof' so, hoping for a similar result. BTW. Just wondering how you are out $250? I thought $4750 was the full purchase price.

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

NO SLEEP TILL A-TOWN!!! 30 days left I've been at it 20 days now. I've done a lot of little stuff and still have a pretty good list of tasks in front of me. I scarfed down lunch and decided to start working on the head cabinet. I sanded off most of the old paint. I didn't worry too much...

    Bally Spottem

I wish you luck! Love these old pre-war games... but, depending on what you need, parts can be VERY hard to source.

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

Thanks for the tips! There's a Benjamin Moore near me. Didn't event think to look there. I'm actually going there tomorrow to see what they have in the way of tinted fillers. I know that larger RONA stores will likely stock the Circa 1850 but I have not been able to get over to the biggest one...

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

NO SLEEP TILL A-TOWN!!! 31 days left I found a couple of free hours today to work on my bathroom reno and then 'earned' a bit of me time ;) I quickly brought all of my stripping and refinishing materials outside and also brought along the coin door. I started with that. Primer and then a...

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

NO SLEEP TILL A-TOWN!!! 32 days left Back at it. As noted last week, weekends are not usually very productive... but I took Friday off so wanted to get back on the horse quickly. The kids finally sat down to watch a movie so I jumped outside and started running some tests stripping the...

    Tim's SKYLAB thread

Thanks for the props Tim. I went into it hoping I could help and glad that I could. Luckily it was similar to another problem I had on one of my machines a while back. I've also been on the receiving end of a lot of help with my own EMs and have gotten a lot of good advice on reading schems and...

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

Thanks, as always. Always happy to share the fun. No update today. I Decided to take a proper break and, instead, went out and helped fix someone else's machine tonight  I'll get back at it tomorrow. Thinking I'll strip all the woodrails next.
