NO SLEEP TILL A-TOWN!!!

Yesterday's task was getting the playfield rails repaired and re-painted.
I used a little bondo to fill in any missing chunks of wood and then sanded and painted everything.
Later in the evening I spent a little time going through all the steppers...
Depends on the game.
Can you post a picture?
For example, if you have an old EM and there's an arch carved into the exposed wooden top of the playfield, you really don't have any good options. No filler is going to mimic natural wood and, even if you filled it, you'd have to end up painting in a...

Last night I completed the main cabinet strip.
I pulled out the door and all leftover wiring.
I'd really love to find a new door frame and some new coin chute plates, but will make due if I have to.
The cabinet was splitting a bit by the door so a quick...

I've been trying really hard to at least spend an hour a day with this project.
Not easy over the weekend with so much going on, but I did at least manage to start removing everything from the lower cabinet. The entire panel with score motor, relays...

Well, it's my 5th day working on this project and my goal was to get all the mechs in the head cab working 100%.
I managed to pop out every score reel and inspect them. All needed a good clean and some orange wipes did a great job of cutting through 55...

Posting a day behind but attempting to catch up.
During the day I used some free time at work to start tracing up the cabnet art and will attempt to make some stencils for the eventual re-paint.
Later in the evening I got the Player 1 run unit taken...
Yes!
I was marvelling at the mechanism to my wife last night (as her eyes rolled ;) ) and how cool it must have been to engineer these things.
The theory of operation is so simple, yet the application looks so complex. All this thing is really meant to do is move up in single increments and then...
I'm certain there is someone local that can do both regular plating and stainless.
The only reason I found SUN plating was simply becasue they were near me and easy to find and bring my stuff to.
If I spent more than 30 minutes researching it, I'm positive a local plater exisits that can do it...

Time to examine my head :)
Last night was time to get into the upper cabinet.
I unscrewed the white face panel with all the score reels and bulbs and it popped out very easily.
However, all the wiring was still connected to the two player steppers at...
I've had an opportunity to play TK's TZ and it is in pretty nice shape, especially for a re-import.
I'm sure someone will be very happy with this machine.
GL!
Thanks!
I buy and own games in all types of conditions... but when a game really deserves it, it's hard not to go all out.
I can say this. I wouldn't want to have to do this again anytime soon. At least not unless I was getting paid VERY well to do it :D
If I was an American buyer right now I'd be all over the Canadian listings. 20-25% savings and they don't get killed on taxes nearly as bad as we do... if at all.
Congrats!

I didn't get too much time with the game last night, but I did manage to finish getting the last couple of bits off the playfield and then taking some magic eraser + alcohol to it and polishing with Novus.
These Formica playfields are the best...

It's been almost a month since my last update. How time flies!
I recently posted some work done on my latest acquistion in another thread for anyone interested in seeing how to 'un-fade' a TOTAN.
However, for this latest installment of the thread I am...
Good luck with the sale Scott!
Two TOTANS in one month! good problem to have
Just to clarify... all the parts Scott listed as "better" means that I had a bunch of the original metal parts from this game (plus some newly purchased ones) sent out for brass plating by Mike Chestnut. When I...
