Hello all!

I'm new here and happy to join this forum.
I'm a 36yo pinball addict from Portugal. Been playing since I was 15. I also surf since I was 10. I live in Lisbon and this city is a surfing paradise. It used to be a pinball paradise also back in the day
I'm an art director in advertising, so I also use my skills in the hobby to make some stuff here and there.
Currently I have only one pin: F14 Tomcat, but had many of them, like nf, acdc, tron, lord, sc, rs etc..

:)

Welcome sir!
Not too many Portuguese collectors around here. Glad to finally meet another one... although I've lived in Canada most of my life, by way of Angola and Viseu.
I'm also a creative director so that's another funny coincidence.

Welcome to the forum!
Adriano

Hi,
New to the revolution and liking what I see. Tim.Sanderson pointed me here. I have a few EM's and my first solid state game, a System 80a which is making me re-think pinball.

Oh you poor bastard...

Like I always say! Sys80... 79 more problems than Sys1! At least you have some EM's to help keep you sane.

Welcome to the assylum!

Hello all,

I am a newbie to pins. Always knew I wanted to get into pins, it was just a matter of time and a sign. As we all know it's a small world, I recently got reaquainted with an old friend who is a member here, who I never knew was into Pinball and arcades. Mike Wong. I was watching YouTube vids about vintage arcades as I always do, and my buddy Steve did a vid about a local collectors Pinball collection. I seen the guy (Mike Wong) and immediately knew it was Mike from years ago. That was my sign that now was the right time for me to get into pins. I am really happy to be talking with this good fellow again.

Lol, I really wish I had my "sign" to get into Pinball about 10 years earlier, as I need to sell body parts to afford these things now.

I am a very active member on KLOV, and currently have 30 FULLY restored all original vintage arcades in my basement arcade.

A healthy mix of arcades and choice pins would top my collection off well.

Here is a little more about me from an editorial in a local magazine a few months back:

I am looking forward to learning more about this side of the hobby, and to meet you all.

Cheers,
Sasha

Hello. Bubble Bobble = kit only game? That means be a custom cabinet?

Ahhh yes, the Bubble Bobble. That was a special one. A surprise for the wife. It was a kit only game. It's too bad, because that is a kit that Taito should have made a dedicated cab for. Other then this special build, everything else is original. :)

Nice! Do you have more pictures of it? Did you create custom artwork for it?

Misspent youth playing pinball all through the 70's. Just bought my first 2 pins last year, Space Shuttle and Bally Black Jack. Both tuned up by TOPEC and play great.

Just thought I would say a hello as I've lurked around a bit on here.

Currently have 2 sterns I bought nib a few years ago when things weren't as insane with the market pricing (Star Trek and transformers both being pro). will add a few more once the basement renos are done but suspect they won't be nib.

Hi from Niagara!

Hey all,

I'm preparing to cautiously wade into PinballRevolution and see what you all have going on here.

I'm into retro consoles in a big way; in particular the Sega Master System and Sega Genesis. I have A LOT of games for those console; because they're small. Something that is entirely lost on you maniacs.

I also have one full sized arcade cabinet. A 4-slot Neo Geo MVS (Big Red). And even though I don't have room for another cab I'm going to be looking anyways.

A close friend of mine has about 10 pins and I've learned first hand how much fun they are. I don't think I'll ever end up with a pinball machine myself but I have a place to go when I need to scratch that itch.

Newbie here.

Searching the internet for pinball. Pinball Revolution pops up and it's Canadian!!!

Anyway, my father was the one who introduced me to pinball. He passed away last year around this time. I got sentimental and was thinking what things we enjoyed most when I was a kid/teenager. First thing that pop into my mind was pinball. It's probably one of the few things I remembered my father really enjoyed playing and had fun. We used to go to arcade 2-3 times a week for pinball. Playing T2, STTNG, Addams Family, etc.

I am looking to buy my first pinball. Kijiji is the first place I looked. However, transportation is the number one issue as I don't think the pinball will fit into an SUV and it's pretty heavy. I am just curious how you guys do it? Besides Kijiji, any other places that sell and delivery pinball?

Welcome Herbert!

A pinball machine will fit in many SUV's (depends on which SUV).

My advice is to read a lot on this site to get an idea of what specific pins should cost. There are lots of great people on here that have decades of experience, and their advice can really help to not get burned on your first pin by someone flipping a project.

The best advice I received was to not buy a project for my first pin. You want to be able to play that pin as soon as you get it home! Struggling to get something working when you are new to the hobby can be very frustrating, especially when you don't have another working pin to go blow some steam off on!

Go in person to play the pin for as many games as it takes for you to get a feel for the condition of the pin.

Be patient. They made lots of these pins, so if the deal isn't right, wait for the next one. Another better one always seems to be posted for sale right after you just bought one!:D

People in this community are very helpful, so ask lots of questions. Also, there are leagues that you can join to try out lots of different pins to see what you like.

Hello All,

My name is Isaac , live in Lindsay Ontario , New to collecting pins , been wanting to buy one for many years and finally pulled the trigger September 20th, I have gone from 0-4 real quick , I just bought No good Gofers from ibjeepin , he most graciously gave me a great tour of his collection and answered many maintenance questions I had.

So far my collection is a Frankenstein, Johnny Mneumonic , Police Force and a No Good Gofers, looking forward to filling my basement with pins I shouldn't be pressed for space until I hit about 20 lol so there is lots of time yet or maybe not on this current pace!
