Sounds like Dark Phoenix is the way to go now, and a really epic mode. Of course, I may never see it-I've had JM for three years now, and have yet to make it to power down :)

JM spoiler alert ;)

Before pressing Start for a new game you clear any codes with both flipper buttons at the same time. Then using Right and Left flipper buttons spell "ACE" with R, L, RRR, L, RRRRR, L as if you were entering initials after a high score but using Left flipper instead of the start button. You will hear an audio tone from the speakers that is confirmation you've entered it successfully. Now your first shot up the middle starts powerdown.

It's great to see the design team on this title is pushing for it. And even one more code update to come!!! Imagine that!

Looks like another code update/fix:

V1.51 - February 17th, 2014
=======================
- Modified Dark Phoenix scores and shots
*Initial scores stay the same, but bonus scoring from ball/side losses have decreased slightly.
*Storm and Rogue shots no longer add time to all sides, but decrease the main timer by 15 seconds. This allows players to reach the final shot sooner, if they so desire or are able.
*Side timers have been reduced to 75s from 120s.
- Fixed an issue where Deadpool could be stolen by another player in a multiplayer game.
- Fixed a timing issue that prevented Xavier's starting light show from completing. Regular game play is now delayed to allow for the light show to finish.
- Fixed a timing issue that prevented ball locks from the Phoenix shot after a skill shot. Phoenix shot is no longer ignored after the skill shot.
- Removed Wizard Multiball shell. This was a wizard mode tested in early beta versions that was brought to prominence due to the last round of changes. It was inadvertently activated and is not an intented feature currently.

Cool! That was quick.
I guess Stern really is trying to clean up all their loose ends before moving over to the new system.

It's probably a good thing that they killed that placeholder wizard mode. The game already has two wizard modes and is fine without another. It's already super deep as it is.

This sounds very much like a final. Seems they've tied up a lot of little loose ends.
