Is that really what happens around christmas time in this hobby? :)

It happens all year long so remember if you are unsure always ask here or someone you know so that you don't over pay.

Yes but no one here goes fishing, right? ;) :FP:

I don't even have any 'bait' this year so I am going to sit on the sidelines and watch.

That Diner in Montreal is good evidence that LED's just don't work in that pin. Eww

The seller must be colour blind or really likes purple in all his games. Good thing is you can remove these and put back incandescents.

Kijiji makes me laugh sometimes. Check this out: http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell ... Z538706288

$4000 because:
*It has it's original paint
*Hard to find
*Working as its original design
*Apparently you can upgrade this machine by putting in a rubber kit and a fuse!

He forgot to mention the cabinet art is faded and the pf is in terrible shape. Oh well....at least you can upgrade it to great fun or resell!

Looks like the Stoney Creek dynamic duo of HS/Comet is back on the market...this time, individually, not as a package deal. I may go have a look as it is close by...

If they were closer I would go check these out myself for others who might be looking for their first game at a reasonable price. The Comet playfield looks decent as the ones I have seen before have flipper wear like in most of the container games which I suspect is the case for High Speed given the angle of the pic taken in the ad. But anyways, if you manage to snag them both for a decent deal remember don't give away the cow by posting pics in your ad and charge per pic, per PM, per email, per text and per minute to the potential buyer.

I think I had suggested before that you team up with someone to buy each machine and you both come up with a value before hand that you are each comfortable paying that total up to a package price that the seller would accept. None of this BS fishing to see if someone would take the other game for $x amount to offset the cost of acquiring yours before they are even in your possession. If nobody is interested I would still see if you can score a deal on both and turn it into a learning experience by shopping it out and making it play 100% again. Who knows maybe you might keep it because you never knew you liked it or sell for a small profit for your efforts. That is how everyone did it before is by buying a slightly beat up or dirty machine and bringing it back to life.

If someone is interested in The Getaway project in Michigan, I might be interested in the Johnny Mnemonic. Price would need to be negotiated with the seller for these projects though - so maybe selling both at once might appeal to the seller?? I'm not jumping on it myself as I'm not keen on the 6 hour drive but I would commit and compensate someone for picking it up for me. PM me. Terry? :D

I know right. You'd think he would take the 20 minutes and $10 to put new rubbers in it before taking pictures...at least replace the broken sling rubber.

What's really funny is that he actually advises potential buyers to go online and research the real value of the machine...what the heck ?! Why not just save people some time and tell them they are overpaying by at least $ 2K ?!
