I was not sure where I should post this, so I will post it here. Be wary of a guy names Sylvain in Hanmer (near Sudbury) selling (a) pin(s). He misrepresented one to me. He claimed the cabinet to be "a 9", but when I saw it the cabinet decal job he did was amateurish. Took me 5 hours to fix it. Plus, I ask him about dents on a siderail I thought I saw in a picture, he said it was just dirt, but there were the dents. As well, he didnt disclose a messed up lock-bar assembly and a few other other things Im fixing/replacing. If he lived in Mississauga, no big deal, short drive, but noooo, he's up in Sudbury... So I detailed the crap out of him, at one point saying "when I see it in person, there will be no surprises right?" And he was like, "ohhh no, no surprises."
This has been my first bad experience in the hobby. I guess now that Im onto my 4th pin, I was due?
Yep, getting stung is inevitable. I picked up a Shadow, drove all the way to VFW to pick it up (vehicle to vehicle transfer) and was assured it was working perfectly. Got it home and numerous issues. My tech has been trying to trouble shoot it now for the past couple of weeks and I've finally resolved myself to order a new Rottendog MPU Security board. So, I've had the pin 3 weeks now and haven't been able to play a single game. Not the first time I've been stung. The way I look at it, not everyone has the same ethics and values as some of us.....and those of us that would never misrepresent a pin will eventually get screwed over. Oh, and of course, the seller swears up and down, it was working fine when he took it out of his home.
****Caveat Emptor*** Before Wong or Meegis chime in. Yes, I did set TS on fire when trying to repair the pin myself. It's a long story. But that damage was repaired and all the same errors remain, prior to THE FIRE. (Screw you Wong!)
Im particularly happy I was brought up in this post, but the screw you was in no way directed to me
