I never understood why all Canadian distributors quote prices in USD.
I'll take a guess... because that is how they buy the games and the rates fluctuate so much during any given day and the margins are so slim it is in their best interest to quote in USD, that way they don't have to eat a change in exchange rates and as a buyer if we want to use a forex reseller to try and get a better rate we're free to do so?

100%. Pins priced in USD - CAD can fluctuate and move the price C$50-60 in a day sometimes,

I guess it also shows you are getting same MSRP as Americans, I have heard people say things like "we get ripped off here in Canada because of all the duty". Fact is there is no duty on pinball machines, just HST like everything else. Europeans and Australians not so lucky and they pay much more shipping on top of that!

Not when they tack on a couple extra points on every sale. Not saying this is the case here but that happens all the time.

If a dealership purchases games at a 1.24 exchange then that is what the game should sell at. If the exchange rate goes up a month later to 1.28 then they charge you that rate plus a couple extra points.

That seems to be the reason for the USD quote IMO.

You don't see this in most other industries like vehicles, appliances, and other high priced goods.

So then what happens if they buy a bunch of games and the rates drop by a few points?
Buyers can then find cheaper options elsewhere due to a lower exchange rate and the distributors lose money or are stuck with inventory.
So do yourself a favour and pay in USD so you don’t have to worry about the exchange rate that the distributor is charging you.

That's a fair comment Mike but as always ymmv. Can always ask for the numbers from the distro I suppose.

I think Nitro allows you to pay USD if you prefer as Chambahz mentioned. MaybeManaLounge will let you do that also?

Hey guys - happy to clear up the price quoting note.

It's simple, we have to. All manufacturers want a stabilized price across the board for clarity to the consumer. They want to see a consistent price with no undercutting with a race to the bottom mentality.

And while we list in USD, when someone looks for a quote, we capture the CAD price that day and quote that direct. Paying in USD is always an option as well.

Well, damn, appreciate all the support guys!! Def not trying to spam just make aware for those who are interested in NIB stuff!

BTW if anyone is looking to try Wick, I'm going to hopefully have one at the Wasaga show on June 1st, pop by the booth and give it a look-see!

Will you be selling the one at the show to take home?

Unfortunately not as we only have 1 for the store for now.

Technically no 'home owners' are supposed to be able to get Pro models right now as all priority for them is for public locations. LE's and Premiums are prioritized for home users. The Pro build for the home users will be coming later in the summer!

But at least you can try it :D
