I have been seeing the Ads for the weird Al machine.
Looks a bit proto-type-y. Half of playfield is screens.
Looks neat,
Not neat enough to buy.

Exactly. Also like a console, if you buy it only to play 1 game it's totally NOT worth it. Buying new games for 2500-3000$ is where the business case starts to make sense.Think of it as buying a console and the 1/3rd of the playfield are the games.

While it certainly is a different approach to pinball, these guys have been around for almost 10 years I think. It's not "new" by any means, just not widespread.I'd be very hesitant to invest in a machine like this right now,

Not sure about the 10 years thing. I read that somewhere but can't remember where.I know they have been around a while (didn't realize 10 years though) but I meant the Weird Al game was new.

ACtually the technology can track the ball all over the lower playfield so there are things you need to "hit" with the ball.I guess it has been about 10 years. They're definitely not new to this, but I remember they were showing the prototypes at shows several years back. I always thought it looked super cool, but I've never played one. I always wondered how it'd shoot, given that there's basically nothing on the bottom part of the playfield. Means any game is automatically top-heavy.
the bottom 1/3 becomes a new game too , the graphics change to the new game
You mean, that vid is crazy interesting! I finally grasp what the P3 system is all about and the possibilities. Real innovative stuff!I found this interresting video, the guy expresses his opinion on the game and unboxes it as well.
