Last time I was at P1, they had a venom LE in the showroom, so if you want to try it out and you're in the area, you should be able to. Not a bad game, and from what I've read, it's got an interesting IC implementation where you can save progress across games.

I think they're glued. I know Brock used to get blank rods from Pinball Life back when he made custom ones. One possibility might be to make something in two halves that goes over the existing knob.

Last time I was in there they had a wall full of demo machines marked down. Some decent deals there, but sadly, no Jaws (I suppose that's one of the games that's selling). If nothing else, you can go check them out in person.

If I could upgrade my pro to a premium for $1k or so I probably would, but it's not a priority by any means. Pro on GZ shoots the same, and doesn't feel like anything is missing.

That's kind of a neat idea having both the original and 2.0 versions included. Looks like even the baseline model has a less expensive upgrade path to 2.0 than a baseline funhouse would. Would still like to try the 2.0 version sometime.

I don't think it's news to anyone in the know at Stern that they're using cheap components, but the games are still selling, so why reduce their profit margin? Those that care will upgrade the speakers, and the vast majority won't. If it's someone's pet issue it might get addressed-apparently...

The last ones I bought from P1 were 165, and you can walk in and pick them up. PBL is a little cheaper, but with shipping/border charges, might end up being about the same price.

No way I'm spending 3k on the topper (although I would like to see how it looks in action), but I got the $700 expression lights. Definitely a neat upgrade, and something you can see more often while you're playing. Definitely easier to install the lights before the stickers though-not sure...
