    Heighway Pinball Production Update

Good for them-hope the game is good. Are those pictures of the production game though? Seems a little risky to have the exposed PCBs in the bottom of the cab like that...

    Stern Pinball: Spike Electronics System

Given the way that the boards etc connect to each other, wouldn't it be possible to just add on another RJ45 connection to the chain and add more drivers etc to a game? Given that Stern is starting to sell their own mods, it wouldn't surprise me to see something like this down the line.

    Stern Pinball: Spike Electronics System

I like the look of this system-makes a lot of sense. We'll see how it plays out in the long run I suppose. Now they just need to make a spike game that I want to buy :)

How do the pros practice and prepare for tournaments?

Another thing you can try is just going for specific goals. If you want to drill things like post passes, live catches, drop catches, or specific shots on a game, then that's pretty easy to do. Start a game and try to do nothing but nail the orbit shot, or try to hit everything you can from a...

    Pinball Hall of Fame

I was there last year, and it's OK. Lots of games are usually not working, but it's still a great collection of stuff. It's worth checking out if you want to try pinball circus, and there's probably some other games that you won't see very often, so if you have a few hours, it's worth the trip out.

    Beat up F2K

Ah, I didn't realize that there was still a solution involved. That makes more sense though-it's just using the sonics as a way to agitate the solution around the parts. Still cool though.

    Beat up F2K

That's pretty impressive-how much was the cleaner? If it's safe to use on bits with switches etc still attached, then it makes it a little more useful than a tumbler, doesn't it?

    ColorDMD's next game is Popeye

I've never actually played this game, but it's pretty universally panned. Very strange choice, unless this is a very late april fool's joke?

Spooky Pinball announces Rob Zombie machine!

Are they actually taking preorder money? Not really interested in the theme, but spooky has managed to deliver so far, so hopefully this all turns out well for them.

    Zidware upcoming Sh*t Storm

That's really too bad for anyone that had money in this. I doubt there's going to be a way to recover anything, but who knows. I wonder if any of those design ideas are ever going to make it to a production game? The screen placement isn't a bad idea-it works well in CV, and it worked in p2k...

The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

Hosted TOPL again last night, and the "what broke" list was actually pretty short: The tilt on spider-man was a little too tight-it had loosened off, and I went a little overboard "fixing" it. A couple of stuck balls-pretty much to be expected over a long enough timeline. LOTR coils (even with...

Barenaked Ladies new SILVERBALL album coming June 2, 2015

Got the album last week, and it's pretty good-it's definitely growing on me. I still kind of miss the sound they had as a 5 piece, if for no other reason than having another singer in the mix changed things up a little more, but they still manage to keep some variety in the tracks. Silverball...

    Zidware upcoming Sh*t Storm

Just to avoid breaking the only set they have, or for some other reason? You'd think that they'd want the game showing at the best they can right now...

    Zidware upcoming Sh*t Storm

It looks like a game at least, but definitely an unfinished one. I think it's telling that in the Pinball News video, the ramp didn't get made once. Not sure if I see $16k worth of stuff in there, but we'll see how it develops. I suppose the question is, will the prospective owners like what...

    High Scores

Managed to double my old GC score on SM last night to end up with 485,954,590. The only thing I didn't end up hitting was Super Hero, and now I'm not really sure what else I needed to do. I had all the villains (3x) and all of the lights in the centre lit. Do you have to actually complete all...

    Zidware upcoming Sh*t Storm

Hey, at this point a print of some of the Zidware stuff might be the only thing anyone sees of these games. Nice to see at least some of the information about what actually got created start making it out there though. It looks like there was some legitimately good ideas in all of this, but...

Anyone else planning on going to the Massey Hall show in Nov?

    Zidware upcoming Sh*t Storm

That actually looks like the software was further along than I expected. I'm assuming that everything was written from scratch though, including the OS, which would take a LONG time...

    Zidware upcoming Sh*t Storm

So how are those ramps even supposed to shoot? Are there magnets there to accelerate the ball up those slopes, or are the flippers so strong that they'll cannonball up there (probably breaking things in the process)? Just looks to be way taller than a standard game, so this could be an issue...

    Zidware upcoming Sh*t Storm

So now AIW/RAZA buyers can convert over to a MG at 1:1, but they have no idea what the difference between the 2 versions will be, except that the cheaper version has all the same features, but is $4000 less. Not sure if that just means $4000 in "bling", but that's still a huge difference. Even...
