Williams Spanish Eyes: Chime to Bell Mod

The wood box is definitely stock...here is a picture from ipdb: But good eyes on that bell. Mine certainly doesn't have one as pictured. Nor is there hardware for it on the match unit. A few other single players on IPDB from the same era are also missing the bell. Maybe I'll check out...

Williams Spanish Eyes: Chime to Bell Mod

I should mention that I left the original chime box installed. There's a very good chance this game gets sold sometime down the line, and perhaps the new owner will have a horrible sense of hearing (or want a stock-sounding game). It's easily reversed. Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk

Williams Spanish Eyes: Chime to Bell Mod

Here's a quick mod for the few EM types that frequent here. Gottlieb bells and chimes are known as the high water mark in electromechanical "music". After hearing the soothing bells/chimes on a Gottlieb wedgehead, your aural senses will be spoiled for all other EM noise. That's exactly what...

    Evapor Rust update.

In my experience, Metal Rescue doesn't provide the same stellar results as Evaporust. Evaporust is the best product in its field, by far. Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk

    Rob Zombie Pinball Reveal

Pretty polarizing responses. Most here in Canada are critical of Spooky's work (this thread is a good example)...while US collectors are falling over themselves trying to get an AHM or get on the list for Rob Zombie. Not saying one position is right and the other is wrong, just wondering why...

    WTB Gottlieb Pioneer Parts

You should be good to go without one in the match position. If the game is destined for home use, I don't think it's really necessary. If you are curious and have a schematic, check to see if the playfield "(blank)X" relay has yellow letter stickers that identify it as being a former match...

    WTB Gottlieb Pioneer Parts

As far as I can tell, a lot of operators cannibalized the AX match relay to replace a worn out/non-functioning relay on the playfield. As an example, a PF spinner uses same relay as the match (GTB Buccaneer, and others) and since the spinner relay sees a lot of use, it's prone to heavy wear and...

    WTB Gottlieb Pioneer Parts

It's the match relay unit in the above picture. Do playfield features for Pioneer also rely on it? Otherwise, you could probably live without it. The Jones plugs for this unit saw many different sizes (ie number of pins)...maybe follow up with number of pins on each plug. Good luck in your...

    stern's next band pinball

If anyone actually cared about Frank Zappa other than me and a few other diehards, he's got an oeuvre that spans decades and iconography that lends nicely to a pinball theme. It'll never happen...but one can dream.

Pinball for Change - Battle of Burlington

Happy to be hosting this. The lineup is likely to change between now and the date, but I've got a good mix of 90s Williams DMD, System 11 and 70s EMs. Likely something to please everyone. Unless you like modern Sterns...I have none of those. [emoji51]

    Silicone Rings instead of rubber

Yeah, it was regular orange Titan colour rubbers, but on my Demo Man. Three snapped after only a week of light play. Not impressed. Have yet to try their silicone competition rings...thus, I can't pass judgement on them, nor partake in manly posturing arguing about them. [emoji1]

    DIY EM Scoreboard

I looked on eBay and kijiji for an old Coke/Pepsi menu sign, too! Ideally, a the menu would have a beer advertisement. I actually found a vintage NOS Miller Lite one I liked, but it broke the bank, nearing $100US. This DIY one fits my décor a bit more. Oh, and the reason Spanish Eyes is at...

    DIY EM Scoreboard

I'm not sure how many EM guys are left on the boards, but I thought I'd share my latest project, which is Martha Stewart-approved, I'm sure. I was inspired to put together an EM scoreboard by Drano, who has his high scores listed on a chalkboard near his machines. China markers (aka grease...
