    spiroagnew's Six Million Dollar Project

My Pinball Pimp stencil set arrived the other day. Jeff Miller was easy to deal with, and upon first look at his product it appears to be head and shoulders above the competition. It came with detailed instructions and built-in safeguards to minimize accidents by end-users. I was familiar...

    spiroagnew's Six Million Dollar Project

With the game buffed, I guess it's time to start assembling the playfield. All the metal parts will be but through the Ultrasonic cleaner, followed by 48-ish hours in the tumbler with corn cob media (and Flitz and Novus 2). I started with my four problem child posts--the ones whose...

Do you have a special serial number?

Often sample games, or the first few off the line, get handwritten numbers. Or it could have been a simple cock-up...one got ruined, and a substitute was needed ASAP. They could have hand wrote ALL the numbers for Wrestlemania...wouldn't have taken that long given the low numbers it sold...

    spiroagnew's Six Million Dollar Project

From what I've read, very durable. I did two other games with Diamond Finish, Solar City and Spanish Eyes, and both are holding up well. No signs of wear yet...but these are on "low traffic" EM games, mind you.

Using the magic of the internet: KBSCoatings.com>Reseller Finder>US and Canada>Your Postal Code... Rondex in Concord, ON or Pomar Hardware in Brampton, ON I ordered direct from the website, back when the dollar was better, so I can't speak to prices from the Canadian retailers.

    spiroagnew's Six Million Dollar Project

Doing it in the basement. If brushed or rolled on the product is safe for indoor use. I just cracked a window and made sure the fans were on in the rest of the house. It didn't smell the greatest and got a bit chilly, but went on great and didn't mess with the cure times. Not sure if...

    spiroagnew's Six Million Dollar Project

I clearcoated the playfield the other day. My choice of clear was KBS Coatings Diamond Finish. Went with that due to its quick cure time and ease of which you can work with the product. Pricy, but a fantastic product I’d recommend to anyone. At the suggestion of a user on an Aussie pinball...

    Pinball Rescue?

I've used them in the recent past and have had no trouble. They seem a bit scatterbrained. I received my last order twice, but was thankfully only charged once. Maybe make sure you've got the ".net" at the end of the address rather than a ".com"? Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk

    spiroagnew's Six Million Dollar Project

I've completed all touch ups. The aqua was a pain in the ass to match, and the original paint loss was the result of flipper rash, I think. After the aqua was applied, I used various sizes of pick tools (akin to awls) and a small brush to recreate the darker blue half-tone "dotted" effect...

Oh, I forgot to add, that we'll probably need to change this thread to "CAD at .60"...maybe even "CAD at .50" before long. Its like the 1990s all over again!

Anyone doing a major restoration or overhaul to a machine will tell you there ain't any money in it, unless its a commissioned project for another party or the game was acquired for $50 from some old lady in Bala, Ontario. I don't sell many machines, but when I do, I feel lucky to rake back the...

    spiroagnew's Six Million Dollar Project

I had four playfield posts on the playfield, in high traffic areas, that were loose. When I removed them, I found that constant and direct ball strikes had worn away the wood beneath something terrible. These posts were not secured via t-nuts on the underside, but rather just a washer and lock...

    Your First

I grew up seeing pinball machines arrive and leave my old man's garage. But the first one I bought with my own cash I earned from my first job was a Williams Solar Fire, around 1995 or 1996. I owned the game for over a decade before I had the nuts to trade it. You can't keep them all, I guess.

    White Water - MPU Issue?

One of the hardest areas to troubleshoot on a game, bar none. So difficult even the so-called Pinside "experts" are scared away! Good thing you have a real expert here trying to walk you through! Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk
