Can't wait to see this place all filled up with pinball goodness. Fingers crossed BH is nice to you after it's trip from my place to yours. (just so you know, I'm not available for tech help tonight!)

I was on a whirlwind pinball adventure with Warlock this weekend in MTL. Good times, but when nature calls...

The one and only SM "Brown" edition.

The tricky part to a tube swap is the yoke, as the alignment of the yoke is where all the magic happens. The reason it's tricky is it's best to find a replacement tube with a yoke that is compatible with your existing monitor chassis, as then the swap is nothing but the PCB's.

Nice piece, although way to vague (and partially incorrect) as to why pinball was initially made illegal in many states across the US. At that time many of them were actually 'paying out' on location in various forms, which is why they got lumped in as gambling devices along with slots etc...
Been on vacay for 2 weeks and just got back to see these posts. Glad you got it all sorted. That heat damage to your driver is minimal, normal and nothing to worry about.

if you put it into switch test, press on the skirts and see if they register a switch closure. If not, visually inspect the "spoon" switch under each pop bumper to ensure the switch is a) gapped properly and b) when the skirt is pressed it closes the siwtch. If that all checks out you need to...
Your 12V seems low as that I believe should be regulated. I would unplug the sound board and see what the 12V line is, and if it's low you will need to figure out if it's the PS that has an issue, or if it's the sound PCB dragging it down. It should be right at or a little over 12V.

Glenn is correct about adding the resistor across the lamp socket in older Bally games but I cannot confirm this can be done in the newer games or not. (I have never tried nor have I even looked into this) I'm going to say it cannot because t's a lamp matrix, whereas the older games are not...
Re: FS: Rescue 911 - $800
LMFAO. To be fair, I have no issue with someone buying the game and cleaning / shopping / fixing the game up and then re-selling it as long as the new price is REASONABLE based on the work they performed. I do however take issue when it gets flipped without so much...
Re: Buying Pin Need Cutoms
Mike would be correct. The only way you would avoid paying the tax on entering Canada is if you could prove that exact game was originated in Canada. (bill of sale with the S/N that matched the game, or "green card" etc)

Re: FS: Rescue 911 - $800
I hope that was sarcastic? (because at that price as long as it's complete does it matter what it looks like?)
I already told Brock I would take it, but I still have 3 pins wrapped and folded from Gerry's container... from the spring that I haven't even touched...
Must... resist... a... visit...
I was a HUGE model railroader growing up, completely obsessed with trains. As a kid my room was in the basement and over half of it was my layout, and it was a BIG room. Last thing I need is another hobby, but I do love trains...

I'm thinking your reset issue is completely un-related to the ribbon cable incident, and it's just a coincidence it appeared afterwards. Start with the basics on DE resets and go from there.
