Thanks for hosting Walt and it was my first time playing in a tournament. It was a lot of fun and next time we should omit TSPP so we can get to dim sum earlier.

I like to think the machines appreciate all that I do for them, and reward me with tourney wins. :) (or in this case a tie)

Had a great time as always, and even though we had dim sum with "that guy" I don't feel any different than I did before.

Officially learned that the rubber replacement page in the manual for R&B is slightly incorrect. I will be heading back to Starburst tomorrow to pick up a few extra rings, and replace a couple they gave me mistakenly.

Anyone need anything picked up? I can grab it and you can pick up from me after business hours.

The longer you're in this hobby, the more you're realize that EVERY manual ring list is slightly incorrect. Just the way it goes unfortunately... and is the reason I never purchase ring "kits" from anyone as they are always wrong. :)

Well, it was mostly correct, but it seems Starburst forgot to give me the sling shot rubbers. Just didnt get them at all, even though I paid.

Yeah, the thing that always pisses me off with the kits is it's always missing something, and it's usually the one or two rings that nobody ever has and grinds the shop job to a halt. Soooo frustrating.

I didnt buy a kit, but I went by the manual at the SB parts counter. Just weird that Im missing the two sling shot rubbers completely. They were on my invoice, but never found their way into the bag.

I finally got around to installing a shaker motor in my standard LOTR!
It was a bit more involved than a standard shaker install, but not too bad and very rewarding when I played my first game and the Balrog shots rocked the game!!!

I'll post a step-by-step in another thread

Doing the Tron Mod 2.0 before he introduced the laser cut plastic molds and marquee, which is way beyond my skill or desire...

Still need a 3 min male molex (active 123 was out of stock locally. perhaps it is ebay time). And waiting or my 555 UV LED. So hopefully next week (or the week after) I will have the parts to complete the project.

Has a spare connector from Tron for under the playfield, so am using the same connector that allows the discount of the arcade flasher, easier to take on and off ...

My Workspace!

Still works!

Well, some of it was last night, but the bulk of it was indeed today, so I guess that counts.

I picked up this Jokerz in Allentown, and then after meeting medvet outside the show and agreeing to buy her Flintstones, I realized that the pin I hadn't even put in the trailer yet had to go.

Luckily, I was able to sell it during the social gathering in my room that night, and it'll be off to its new owner on Saturday. Of course, because I bought it rough and unshopped, I agreed to make sure it was 100% working as part of the deal.

That was a bit more work than I was expecting, but after spending 6-7 hours replacing sockets, burning the crap out of my wrist on the iron, adjusting switches, changing rubbers and cleaning cleaning cleaning, jokerz is nearly ready to go. Amazing what a difference replacing the rubbers, cleaning waxing etc made to the game play. It's a lot more...fun. I'll tune up the flippers after squash and figure out why one of the switches that was working fine before my repairs suddenly isn't (uh oh - right underneath where I was soldering last night) and then I'm feeling like I've kept my word.

Soldering at 2 am is just dumb though. Won't do that again.

I finally put Dr. Who back together, with the new motor, playing like a charm. If I have to take apart the time expander one more time I am going to lose it! And to make life ever more difficult, the little red dot on the motor DOES not mean 'Red wire on this side' .

Work has been insane. All good news. Very little time for pinball, but one more arrived, and one more left for a new home.
Hoping to tell another chapter in my tale this weekend, and will now update Menace Files case #1.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Jokerz switch issue resolved (its mounted on a plastic fame, and it had just worked loose), replaced flipper sleeves and stops, and folded and wrapped her up. Of course, right after I remember that I had to change the translite, but since I'm out of wrap I'll just include the translite in the package for the new owner!

Done. Made it. Whew.

Flintstones in a mere matter of hours now!!!!
