    Metallica Premium

When I've had problems like that, it's usually a case that the drive transistor needs to be replaced. You could replace the coil/fuse and see if it works, but if the driver is bad, it'll lock on. At that point, you know to replace the driver as well. Not sure on the exact configuration there.

    CGC Game #3 is...

Now, of course, the speculation is going to be on the "added features". I'd seen a couple of rumors about updated code, which is an interesting proposition. It opens the door to CCC as the next game if they've got the licenses to the point where they can release with modified software.

    JJP Hobbit Code Update 2.95

It's a good update-seems like it's mostly polish with new lights and sounds, but the rule tweaks might make a difference in tournaments. Making the mode won feed into the value of the arkenstone mode is interesting, and seems like it can go from 0.5x to 4x depending on the difficulty (they left...

    SHOOTER ARCADE GAME REVIEWS

T2 is in the same lineage as games like Operation Wolf, which I'm pretty sure are just disguised joysticks instead of actual light guns. Nothing wrong with that, and it actually might make them more reliable in the long run. As for gun games though, here's a few that I've always enjoyed...

    JP help

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking you could isolate with the whole display section disconnected. If the game boots normally without the DMD connected (or the DMD controller), then that's what's suspect.

    JP help

So the fuse that's blowing looks like it's connected to the display, which would explain what you're seeing on the DMD. What if you leave the display disconnected? Does the fuse still get hot? That in and of itself sounds a little odd, but then again, I don't think I've ever checked to see...

    Spectators for IFPA15

Adam isn't on here much these days, but I wouldn't expect so. Space will likely be at a bit of a premium with the number of players. Twitch is probably your best bet.

    Stern's next pin is...

I've never been a huge Iron Maiden fan, but the game does look pretty awesome. Seems like there's more stuff in this machine than in previous games. Looking forward to getting a chance to play it at some point.

    Stern's next pin is...

Stern has been including the metal leg protectors out of the box, so those should be covered. Not sure on cliffys-again, my GB had protectors on it from the factory, but that was about 8 months into the run. They tend to revise hardware as they produce games, so you sometimes get more stuff if...

    JJPOTC Production Update

I'm a little surprised that they didn't try to re-engineer this to make it work after making such a big deal about it earlier. Seemed like a neat design for a mech. If it wasn't going to work long term though, I suppose it makes sense to cut it, and it's not unprecedented to make mechanical...

    A cool book on Pins

It's pretty good-it's basically a pair of intertwined stories about the history of pinball (up to the modern day), and the author's own attempt to get back into tournament play at PAPA (which he uses to talk about competitive pinball). Some of the story is well-worn territory, but it also...

    Ben Heck leaving Spooky Pinball

What does "until the deeproot announcement" mean? I thought they were dealing with all the leftover jpop crap-does that actually have anything to do with Ben? In any case, it's too bad that the game didn't make it out there, but if you're designing for a license that you don't have yet, I...

Scared Stiff Boney Beast Eye Mod

OK, that's pretty cool. Probably a pricey mod, but it's neat what you can do with some little screens and a controller. Now, if you really want to do something cool with it, maybe wire it so that the eyes follow the ball (like Rudy on funhouse). Could probably tie into the switch matrix to...

    White water playfeild planking

I suppose it depends on what you want to do with the machine: -If you just want to play it, and it's playing OK, leave it as is, content that it's a 26 year old game at this point, and still going strong. You can take steps to protect it from further wear if you want, like adding a couple of...

Which is easier? Trade desired titles, or sell then buy?

If you're trying to sell, people will offer you trades. If you want to trade, people will offer you cash. :) Trades can be a good way to get a game out of someone's collection, since at least for me, I don't want to part with a game unless I know I have something to replace it (nature abhors...

Sold-going west next week unless something catastrophic happens.

SOLD No Good Gofers (NGG) $5000

Price drop-if someone local wants this, $5000 and it's yours. Otherwise it's likely heading out west.

SOLD No Good Gofers (NGG) $5000

I just posted this on kijiji, but I'm selling my NGG: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1329364739 Not much to say that's not already in the ad-game plays great, and I've had a bunch of TOPL nights at my place and it's stood up to all of them. I can't think of a single thing I've...

ColorDMD's next game is Game of Thrones

Just take the display out of your HS2 if you want to try it-it should be all the same hardware. You might need the new mounting kit though.

    New Barcade coming to Waterloo

Not a bad location-looks like you're right down the street from Morty's. Wings and pinball! Haven't been back up that way in probably 7 years though.
