I'm cautiously optimistic about the game, but definitely not rushing to preorder anything. I actually like the premium art package (although the LE isn't bad), so that means that there'll be a chance to get this a year from now once we know how it plays, and how the code turns out. Should be...
I saw this story online the other day about Cineplex taking over the old Target (which I think used to be Zellers) space at Square One. Sounds like it's going to be a more upscale/adult targeted Playdium? This is a little odd, since Playdium is just across the street from there... I wonder if...
That's pretty cool, and the fact that some of the homebrew community has actually made demos that run on it is pretty awesome. It'd be great if somehow any in-development software made it out for this. I don't think there's ever been a concrete list of what was actually in the works, and how...
Hi from TOPL-running weekly pinball in Toronto for 20 years :)
The last time we had a show in Toronto was back in 2010, which is actually further back than I thought it was, so now I feel old. It was actually a really good time, and there was a good group of volunteers and games on freeplay...
I know there used to be a couple around, but I don't know where they are these days. Not a lot around since it's a game that doesn't really have legs in a home setting. It's a neat theme, and there are some interesting ideas, but it gets boring pretty quickly.
Pinball is definitely the biggest ticket thing I collect, but then again, they're less of a "collectible" and more of a "thing I own so I can play them when I want". Besides that though, I've got a comics habit going back close to 30 years now, and I'm up around 11 or 12 thousand books, which...
I just listed this on Kijiji, but thought I'd post here as well. If anyone is interested in a bike trailer, I'm selling one here:

What if you just got the paperwork saying you were bringing the game in, and then didn't come back with it? Would they have any way of tracking that? I wouldn't mention selling anything in the US unless absolutely necessary.
It crashes with any game? Any changes to the MAME binaries or configs in the past few days?
I can't remember if there's a crash dump/log file created for MAME, but that'd be my first place to look.
Wonder what this will do to the prices on originals? Also looks like the increased price is extending the warranty quite a bit. Even with that warranty though, I'm still not sure I like the "one big ass board" design that they're going with. If that breaks, it's a big ticket replacement, and...
That's actually way more reasonable than I thought it'd be, especially with the MMR pricing. The top end version is the same as MMR but includes the colour upgrade and topper, right?
It's a story lots of us have heard before, but with some details I didn't know about. Worth a read:

I like what they have going there-it's good that they're trying to be self sufficient, and I like that there's someone else taking a stab at manufacturing games. I wasn't all that impressed with Full Throttle when I've played it, but Alien has the definite advantage of being a theme that people...
I've got one game (Hobbit) that came with invisiglass, and it's definitely nice, but I haven't found that it makes the rest of my games unplayable. If you want to spend that kind of money on an upgrade, go for it, but if I were going to put in a big ticket mod, I'd go ColorDMD or pinsound...
