    Hobbit arrives at Playdium Store

Good to know-I'll have to go check it out. Wonder when the preorder games are coming in? Seems like actual people are starting to get their games now.

TPF '16 Wizards Tournament - Congrats Williams Fan

Nicely done-that'll certainly help to raise your ranking.

    Stern Ghostbusters

If this follows the recent Stern model though, the premiums will be available for a decent amount of time, so unless you really need an LE, you can wait and see how it plays, and how the code develops.

The Hobbit Full Playfield Posted by JJP

Has this shown up at Starburst yet? Last time I talked to them, they said they expected to get one for the showroom this week. No ETA on preorder games yet.

SOLD MET LE, AC/DC LE, MB and CC

I'm at least interested in seeing if they sell. 20k for a CC is too much for me, but if that's what people are willing to pay these days, then I suppose that's the price. Given that I remember that game going for 10k+ a bunch of years ago, it wouldn't surprise me. Besides, there aren't a lot...

    Help for MAME noobs

Right, I forgot all about the J-pac. Much simpler that way.

    Help for MAME noobs

Going 60 in 1 to MAME is certainly possible, but there's a few things to consider: Monitor-If you have a regular arcade monitor, then you'll need to either swap it out, or get a card that can interface directly to it (is ArcadeVGA still a thing?-not sure on that). Controls-You should be able...

    Stern Ghostbusters

Any word on who is doing code yet? Couple of other thoughts: Magnetic slings-are these going to work kind of like the idol in RBION? These could really change up the flow of the game, and I wonder if they'd implement something where they become player controlled at some point (kind of like...

Does anyone get emails when they get messages?

Mine was working last time I checked. Maybe check spam filtering?

Pinball for Change -April 2nd Charity Tournament

Interesting idea for the format-I take it that the "runners on base" are cumulative between games? Is there another rule that says that finishing the game below the first objective is an "out", and that at 3 outs you lose all runners? Means that the order you play games in could really...

Twilight Zone... UBER Cheap slot target fix

Hmm, interesting idea. I ended up replacing this target (and the clock one) with the reinforced one, but if this works just as well, go for it. Nothing wrong with a hack if it's effective.

    Resurrecting Gottlieb’s Brooks & Dunn

That's kind of a neat project. No interest in the theme myself, and most of those Gottlieb DMD games were pretty bad anyway, but the whole idea of trying to reassemble a pin from just about nothing is a fun challenge. When they finish, they'll have something really unique to take to shows.

Anyone have a recommendation for a HAND TRUCK?

Good to know-mine was OK the last time I used it, but then again I've probably only used it half a dozen times. That princess auto one does look like a better unit though.

Anyone have a recommendation for a HAND TRUCK?

The one that I have was a CT special from a few years ago, but I just checked and it doesn't seem like they have it listed anymore. Maybe check in store? It's just a regular appliance dolly with the ratchet strap built in, small hard wheels, tall back, and the rubber tracks on the back.

    Backwards Pinball Machine

That's really neat. We did something a little similar at a TOPL playoff one time with an AFM set up on short legs, and the flipper buttons rewired to be on the backbox. You played on a stool behind the game, so you were looking at the whole thing backwards. I think they had the same thing set...

Pinball with the Pros - Episode 2

Good video-about all I knew on mustang before this was to try to get the gears as high as possible for multiball, but didn't know what the exact scoring was for it. One thing I did find out on Monday though was that on the LE, there's a lockdown bar button where you earn power shifts (similar...

Ball "lost" in The Twilight Zone? lol

What do you mean it'll only play if you add another ball-will it go into a "looking for balls" loop? Newman's right on the ceramic ball sensor-I had problems with that, and just directly soldered the trough sensor to keep it working, but that only detects whether the ceramic ball is in the...

Stern announces next pin...Game of Thrones

Played an LE for the first time this weekend, and it makes a really good first impression. Better than Mustang, better than TWD, and better than ACDC (again, as a first impression based on 5 or 6 games). Not sure how it'll hold up long term, but it's a really strong start. I liked the way you...

    High Scores

Hanging out with some folks this weekend, and got to talking about the rules on TSPP, so I started a 3p game just to try to explain a few things (how to start modes, stack modes/MB, keep the clock reset etc). That turned into a probably 30 minute game and just over 205 million to GC the...
