Adding drywall always makes a framed room look a little smaller, especially if you're doing the ceiling. That last pic is pretty lucky though-if that were my kids, one of them would have climbed on/jumped in the pile of drywall scraps already and made a huge mess :)
I was down at Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara this weekend, and I noticed they had a Star Trek Pro in the arcade (2 tokens for 3 credits if you're interested). Played a few games on it, and noticed that it already had issues-3 of the LEDs were out, one of the slings was firing randomly, the "punch...
More pinball is good-we'll see if it ends up being a good game or not. Not sure if I care about it being an original theme or not, but it'll be interesting to see what they come up with. Means that nobody goes into it with any preconceived notions I suppose (whether that's a good thing or not...
Very true-I like the look of the premium more than the LE anyway, and then there's the question of whether the pro is the better value. Not sure that the LE/Premium adds much to the gameplay here.
I still need to spend more time with the game, but I like what I've played the one or two times I've had a chance at it. Not sure if I want to get burned again by "there's a code update coming" though. X-Men cleaned up nicely, but it was a long ride...
The nice part about a game like that is that if you want to change it up for something different, you can always trade its value for something else. If it's not getting played, and you don't see yourself going back to it, bring in something else, but don't leave an empty spot for the Hobbit...
Could be game 3, or could be something as simple as bringing on at least one cast member for custom hobbit speech. Another possibility is saying that ALL hobbit LE games will be available this December (basically, that they're starting production early), rather than shipping them as they're...
I don't usually watch speed run videos, but this one is a particularly good example from the last Awesome Games Done Quick. 4 players head to head on Super Metroid, with some great commentary that not only points out what to look for (live), but offers some background on speedrunning and...
New update from JJP the other day with at least a partial whitewood. Not much there yet, but I guess that confirms that those squares on the sketch are actually popups of some kind (probably trolls as has been speculated).
Pinball news overview...
It's pretty amazing that it sold out that quickly-good luck to all who are going! Sounds like a great time-I really need to make it down there one of these years.
Sounds like a great plan, and if you decide you want to put in a bar later on, you at least have plumbing if you want a sink down there. If you're getting it sealed in, just make note of where the pipes are behind the wall-means making a smaller hole later on.
Having a month to move is also...
Thanks for the feedback-only other thing that's keeping me back from selling it is that I can't remember where the hell I put the keys for it. I know I had them at one point, but they seem to have disappeared in the last move. How hard are machines of this vintage to break into and replace the...
I usually use a ratchet strap to secure the head, and cardboard to protect the corners/siderails, and then I'll usually shrink wrap on top of that, more to have a layer to protect the cabinet than to hold the head down. I'd rather take a few more minutes to pack things up than have something...
If the CPCs are running again this summer, why not tie in with that? Most of the same crowd as at the auctions, and the tournament part is already covered.
Built on top of the tiles huh? Same problem I had here actually, except it was crappy subfloor. Not fun to cut that stuff out from underneath if you want to keep the wall but replace the floor. Shouldn't be expensive to remove-worst case get a sledgehammer and do it yourself.
