Thanks guys! I'm going on Tuesday afternoon now. I have the day off. I think my buddy will be able to supply his SUV again. I'll keep that in mind if anything changes.
Brad (aka brad808) and his girl came by today so we could 'compare notes'. It's nice to be able to help someone else, after being the guy who's asked all the questions for the past 3 months!
I don't suppose there is anyone with a vehicle capable of picking up a pin that has nothing to do today, and could help a brother out? I was hoping to pick up my Jokerz from Carlisle (near hamilton) to my place (Mississauga) today, but it turns out I've only got the car today, and not the truck...
As I posted in the diaries thread, I added some red LED underglow to the machine.
It was $40 from AA electronics. ($50 if you count the 2a power supply I added to it) I'd like to tap in to power from the pin, but I might hold off on trying that for now.
Sure dude, I'll try it a little later this morning/afternoon. I'm not sure that will cause a similar problem though, because I have the top center ball drop opto covered with a piece of tape due to it acting up and being triggered whenever I press the flippers. (It's not a big deal against game...
I'm sure you'd have noticed already, but how wide is the gap between the contacts on the start buttons switch? On mine I have the slingshot switches so close together that sometimes they trigger by them selves a couple of times after the ball bounces off them.
I quite disagree! It's an interesting design. It seems like the only weakness of this design is in the friction wheel. And from the looks of mine, it can wear itself down and still do the trick.
Here's what the wheel looks like:
It's incredibly worn out, but still works without fault. It has never not rotated properly in all my hundreds of plays.
Here's a vid that shows you when and where it rotates during the pick-up: (low res for the sake of upload time)...
I've just set up my recording rig, I'll make a short vid showing the rotation.
My wheel is quite worn, (there's still a black rubber dust around the path of the wheel) but I don't remember a flat spot. I'll take some pics for you.
I am off all weekend. You are welcome to come by for a beer and...
Nice fix!
Pinball Resources has the friction wheels. I could use some spare ones too. If you want to put together an order, we can split the shipping.
Let me know.

I've found that The Pinball Resource has most of the parts for this game.
This is the part number in my manual:
ACRYLIC BALL, 1" DIAMETER - 30482
Doing a quick search, I found this: http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=23375
It looks like Acrylic balls might be a common thing used...
